I’m not sure if this is suppose to be possible, but when you first join if you are wearing gear with 6 speed runes you’ll have a movement speed increase. However if you remain for any game after the first you won’t see the speed increase. But easy fix is to just leave after the game ends, and enter in to get the speed increase.

Ah. That explains why the one player was able to easily outrun me.
