I keep seeing ghosts with 15 mins of swiftness and the source says : Mad King Thorn. Is it after so many conversions or something?

They get a speed boon every time they kill a player.

I had 3 stacks of swiftness when I played good to know it was the killing people that was adding them.
it still felt like I was running slower than if I didn’t have any movement speed buff. also, my asura seemed larger than normal when ghostified (maybe 1.3 times normal height?)

I’ve been noticing villagers being faster than me.

As a villager, of course. Without any swiftness from food applied. It is strange.

As a ghost, I haven’t seen such problems. Just as a villager, everyone seems to outrun me.

I noticed the same thing. I felt very slow, and my asura seemed larger than usual.

Yeah. It’s hard to outrun ghosts if for some reason you’re inherently slower than many of the other villagers.

It’s also hard to manage the Hammer Patrol that keeps the ghosts at bay and defends the innocent.

Well maybe you’re in combat?

Also last year traits worked in the game for a passive speed buff, not sure if that’s fixed or not.

You’re also essentially in PvP so maybe they set PvP up for speed?

it might be the case that the regular speed for ghosts is slower than alive player, to give alive people a bit of an advantage, but then give ghosts swiftness-on-kill so that they then match alive people’s speed.
in short: maybe ghost + swiftness = normal alive player’s run speed?

Yes, there is something not right in here. Two of us were both of the living and this char was WAY faster than me. For far longer than food would have lasted. I targeted this char but, no boons were on him.

If you, as a villager, throw something at a ghost, you get stuck in combat and have your movement speed slowed.

Everyone keeps saying this isn’t how the thrown items worked last year and I would tend to believe it couldn’t have because now using the items that you are supposed to use to save yourself from being converted into a ghost actually now make it more likely you will be converted because your run speed gets slowed down so drastically. There is no way this could have been intentional as it puts the villagers at too much of a disadvantage against the ghosts who they were already severely disadvantaged against.
