I’m currently 11/13 for the meta achievement and just need scarecrow finisher, but since i’m not big on pvp or wvw, i tried to follow dulfy.net guide and use the finishers i got in the mail on the npcs in the Mist’s lobby area. However, i used up 3 of them when npcs were downed and none of them worked, no progress on the achievement.

I’ve spent considerable time in the Labyrinth trying to get the 3 bosses, which i had to kill several times over b4 getting the achievement. during that time, I only got 1 scarecrow finisher and we supposed to do it 20 times?

So now that i’ve wasted 3/5 i had, where do i get more other than labyrinth? and if they’re such a rare drop and then they don’t work when used how i’m i supposed to get this achievement?

I’m kinda disappointed that we have to get the meta done in order to progress the story and even more so that pvp aspect has been made compulsory to get the meta achievement.

Is there any way u guys could add something else in lieu of this scarecrow finisher one? If this is the only way to progress the story, i fear this may be the first meta i don’t get to finish and that’ll be really upsetting for me being so close getting it done and also i really, really wanted that candy corn mini. I’ve always loved the candy corn transforms in gw1 that u could use in combat and although something like that would have been wonderful in gw2, mini is the 2nd best thing to get i guess.

Anyway, any help or advice would be appreciated.

Which mobs did you try? Because not all of them work. Only the training nps that portrait all the professions. In the north of the mists map.

It’s all right friend, just do the Halloween dailies. You don’t have to do the stomp one to get the meta.

Really? That would be great, but when i look at the living story achievement panel, it indicates that Finishers and Mad King says are left to complete the meta? I have been doing the dailies, but I thought those that counted toward the meta were already done. I don’t think today’s daily counted toward it but now I’m not so sure….confused lol.

Today’s daily definitely counted towards it. I was at 10/13, did the 2 dailies and now I"m at 12/13.

Make sure you go to the Hero tab and physically select the Scarecrow finisher as the one you’d like to use. As you use the consumable finishers it adds a number of uses to the “finishers” tab in the Hero panel, but you have to actually select the specific finisher you’re going to use.

Btw, when does Mad King Says starts? i think i read in the patch notes its on the 30th? but i guess if dailies do count toward the meta then it may not matter really. I was gonna ask do we have to wait till then to finish the meta and then continue the story with Tassi?

O.o, i was just double clicking them in the inventory, that could have been my problem then. Wish there was a better explanation how to use them, since on the items it just says double click to consume, so i followed the instructions that were misleading?

Well I imagine you have seen a finisher before and when it’s not a mad king or scarecrow I would start to think if I did something wrong.

Oh THAT’S how you use the stupid things? I don’t do any kind of PvP so I thought you just double clicked it in inventory…great instructions there…

I’ll have to give it a try tonight:)
