i just wanna make clear. i love Anet,,, but this patch it feels like the ball was dropped. it feels lackluster boring and just. BAH.. just did clocktower for the first time ever. didnt even get a achiv got a pair of useless gloves with a lvl 60-70 skin on.. cant do last years achivs. cant even see the god kitten story …… cause cba grinding this years new lame achivs.

not even any achvis for the awesome mini game…. ppl will stop doing it in a few days cause of lack of rewards….

Funny how we always get exactly the same topic after every single release ever released.

Not everyone is playing for rewards, or at least see the fun as reward itself.

Not having the option to see other players make it boring to me.

Maybe it tells you something if we are constantly getting these topics after every single release.

Just a thought, but if there is so many threads on this after every release, maybe, just maybe, it should become a concern if so many players are not happy.

Or maybe it is simply a testament to the fact that no matter what people will complain about something?
Especially when most of the threads don’t even have any actual real criticism but just complains for the sake of complaining.

if you read my post you see me complain about actual stuff that imo shoulda been diffrent and not just for the sake of complaining. id like to be able to see the story without having to grind a bunch of boring achivs and id like to be able to do last years achivs. and then added some achivs or decent rewards to the awesome mini game for the reason i like it. but in a few days . ppl wont play it because of the lack of everything.

Every thread has real criticism, otherwise there would be no complaint at all. You just have to look past all the ranting and raving and see what the purpose of it is.

Some people feel like they need to express themselves with foul language and anger instead of properly explaining the issue. But the issue is still there, just under a bunch of nonsense. It doesn’t make it any less valid because of that.

If you actually take the time to understand where a thread is coming from, you’ll see they have valid complaints. Even if it is cluttered with a bunch of non-constructive content.

I farmed the crap out of the Mad King Clock Tower last year and I plan on doing it again; not because of some awesome reward, but because it’s legitimately fun to complete. I do agree that the few exotic armor pieces they’ve offered as puzzle rewards (Mad King Clock Tower this year, last year, and the Aetherblade Retreat) that end up being skins we can already get in game IS a little off-putting but I guess that is what it is. I want to be hopeful and assume that they’ll stick the Master Carve achievement back into the list of achievements because really, why not?

Don’t really feel like it’s lackluster though. They gave us a new story to follow with the Mad Prince and I think that should be interesting. A few new skins (sad that they didn’t bring back the Greatsword Chainsaw skin from last year though) to add to the wishlist..I mean that’s kind of what holiday events are. They aren’t going to be wholly new year to year, or at least one shouldn’t hope for that.

Since this seems like the closest to a general reception thread on the release, I’ll put my two cents in:

It’s every bit as good as it was last year. Best festival releases since last year’s Shadow of the Mad king (possibly because it has much of the same, but that doesn’t bug me). I’m having fun, and I’m not concerned with rewards. B&M is a fun release so far, and that’s all that matters to me. I wish old achievements were unlocked, but that’s a minor complaint.

Also, I actually like the changes with skills and appreciate the additional information on traits and skills.
