I’l start by saying that I very much enjoy it when its working properly. I leveled an alt to 80 in there. What fun! There’s some problems in there though.

When the instance was packed the first few days it was great. Now it is not. Even while guesting i can’t get it done some days. There’s just not enough people to kill the three bosses. Unlike some, I don’t enough time to wait for ideal conditions (a zerg)

Plus, I’ve pretty much hit prepetual DR. I don’t understand why you would make limited time holiday reward content and then hit it with the DR stick. Might this explain why no one is there?

I’d like to say that this is exclusive to the labyrinth. However, this is a broader issue. I find myself alone at a lot of meta events. Then I find myself bored because I can’t do a lot of the content (that I love)

Next thing you know i am out of time. This is very frustrating.

Perhaps a little off topic, but its further frustrating that all the holiday items are essentially out of my grasp too because:

1) There’s no way I’d be able to farm up the mats.

2) I don’t have the gold to buy them.

3) It would coast a small fortune to buy the gems to get them. (never gonna happen)

this is why people do these events as soon as possible.
they become so much harder to do later on, there are less and less people doing them everyday, everyone is pretty much burnt out on doing it, and the rewards toward this place are quite bad.

i saw how much it would cost/grind to get the mats in order to get those recipes, for the pails, and for the mini prince. i completely gave up on it and just a levels a few of my toons and sold candy corn on the tp for a few gold.

I’m a casual player, even if the mats needed were 1/3 of what they are now, i probably would have skipped it. I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I can’t do a great deal of stuff in this game and maintain a life.

I agree – I really think Anet backed themselves into a corner by their method of trying to rid the market of excess Halloween currency/materials. Instead of coming up with fun, useful, and most importantly reasonable ways to slowly suck excess out of the market, they made it more difficult to obtain Halloween mats while at the same time added recipes that take an insane amount of those same materials. The end result is that only the rich and/or truly dedicated “players” are going to be able to obtain the recipe items. On top of that, one of the few methods of reliably obtaining materials outside the TP (the labyrinth) has been nerfed into oblivion and has incredibly annoying mobs that pull/stun/fear/knockback constantly along with legendary bosses with one shot ranged AOE abilities (especially to non-80 players scaled up.) I’m hopeful things will get more fun when the Mad King comes to our realm, but things are not looking very promising thus far.

This. Add in their insistence on making so much stuff on a daily progression cap (to keep daily login numbers up I assume) I find myself getting either burnt out or left behind. Feeling forced to log in every day sucks. Wish they’d convert the dailies to weeklies and let us schedule our playtime as we see fit.

That’s the problem with the design.

They need to be designed to be done by one player working alone and not designed around conditions that won’t be present after the first few days.

It’s not just the Halloween Event. The content published the last couple of weeks surprises me. First it was TA, even tho it was a nice concept the community made it impossible on most servers to even attend the event. Most people weren’t 80 to that time, therefore they couldn’t enter the groups that were running the instances. Other people that had 80’s didn’t match the build criteria (people’s opinion) or decided to play a class they love to play but nobody wants in instances. By the time you were done spending a lot of gold and hours with leveling, the event was over or people got tired of it.

Halloween isn’t different. I remember the first days, you couldn’t even get into the labyrinth on your home server, you ended up in overflow. For me that was better to be honest since my Server has no coordination what so ever lol. I found a lot of people leveling their alts in there, which I don’t mind but if you have to revive 100 people at every corner, or cant finish an event because the low levels get 1 shotted then this isn’t fun. I rather enjoy the Labyrinth at the moment. It is less crowded and you’re actually able to get the achievements or dailies done, but it takes a lot of guesting and time since you have to run on other people’s schedules. I don’t think that Anet wanted it that way but unfortunately that’s what it has become. In other words, the next upcoming patches don’t look much better and you might wanna think about joining those events at the day the patch happens, maybe a week after but that’s it. Save your stuff for next year
