30 Days to make 1 armor set.
It’s a smart move.
A: It’s casual.
B: It stops massive inflation.
Note: Crafting material prices may rise due to the usage in obtaining Zephyr chests. If they were to allow players to also craft Celestial gear upon release of this content, the prices would skyrocket (or at least have a major shift in price).
I want an armor that takes one year to obtain. Becouse why not? It builds the exclusive status of items. Make that doable in few days and suddenly every single Joe in the hood sports one. It then stops to be shiny and becomes cheap.
It definitely keeps you logging in every day to charge your quartz crystals. ANet is very clever when it comes down to these things. When the time comes for Ascended armor sets that can be crafted it’s almost guaranteed that it would take at least this long.
People have referred to this strategy as time gating. You basically reduce the grind required and at the same time you put everyone, regardless of how much time they have, on an even playing field.

Except in this case they look just like all the other crafted exotic armor so there is nothing to show off …
Also the 1 per day can turn into 1 per 2 days after the event. I guess some people are just not going to care so they will just sell their Quartz Crystal(probably for a high price, then again maybe not considering the price of Mystic Coins).

it does not seem casual to me I find the daily casual, play a bit do some wvw it is done.
this is just a long grind for you to make armor and it is not really enjoyable. A smart move would be is put it in a dungeon or make a dungeon where you can only get the armor and wepons from there at least it is new content and something to do and I have the option to grind the dungeon everyday to get it in a week like other dungeon sets or take my time and casually do it and get the armor in a month also throwing it in a dungeon would stop other mats from going up in price from not crafting it going with your point of it stopping inflation from not using other mats.
also to your note I don’t think mats will really go up in price I mean how many of us have a stack of certain mats that don’t get used a lot I had like 4 stacks of thick leather sections before buying boxes

As a casual, I totally support this game design. Logging in 10 minutes to charge quartz and do dailies … I can do that every day. Log in to raid for hours on end … could do that maybe once a month. Yea

can we still celestial armor on tp? If so, this is just a way to profit off crafting.

Well every joe in the hood that can’t use buildcraft anyway. Are there any builds this will actually be better on than the current setups?
edit:
You still have people who don’t understand the stat cost for % crit damage, and why it’s better to only have it on certain pieces versus others. It’s sad but I partially feel like this is a noob trab unless you have a spec that can make use of all of the stats. Maybe ele or something can, not sure. I know for me I have the recipes, but I will never craft it because it’s too expensive on the stats for the gain.

I used to have a crafted exotic armor set I had bought of the trading post. I didn’t really care about it, it was just there to make my character stronger. But then I changed my build and the new armor stat combo wasn’t craftable so I had to do ascalonian catacombs to get my full armor. At the time it was a little annoying, but once I got my first piece I noticed how much more I appreciated my armor. To this day I still look at my armor and think about how I got it. Then my build changed again after the aetherblades release, but I didn’t really know what stat combo I should use (I’m an ele) then came the celestial armor!
And I love it! I have crafted my tailoring from level 27 to 400 and my artificer from 347 to 400 yesterday and I have crafted everything I need except for the crystals. Now all I have to do is make one charged crystal a day and I’ve got my armor! But I’m so much more excited and invested in my armor now that it actually requires me to do something!
Ps. If you have an alt you barely use, just give him a few stacks of crystals and place him at a place of power. Then just log in to that alt once a day and press f. And log out againg, it really isn’t that hard!
I’m wondering how many quartz crystals you can get after this whole thing moves along. We know you can get a node in your own home instance. But that alone will yield 25 crystals a day?
Not 100% sure about this, but I know baggies of goodies now give Quartz. Not sure if that’s permanent.
