Anyone excited?
I am trying to but, I am not really understanding what it is about, someone please help me?
I mean, I get that it’s like a big gathering for traders and stuff, but I don’t get what the plot/problem is, or is this gonna be like dragon bash and start off as a peaceful fun thing and get ruined by some villian again?
Still, I am very curious about the ‘bringing new movement skills’ thing, yayayayya hopefully permanent and not just in the racing thing.
I didn’t liked sky pirates, because they wasn’t pirate, and wasn’t sky at all.
The final product was a failure.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Concept sound very formulaic: there’s mini-celebration (Southsun tourism / DragonBash), then not-really-dangerous outlaw bad guys show up (Molten Alliance / Canach’s wildlife / Aetherblade), then we fight them in a dungeon that goes away forever in a few days (MF / Lair /AR). What do we get? Expensive, very random drop skins. If you’re lucky.
After the last few months of Living Story, this isn’t really exciting anymore, even though I was pretty happy with F&F and Southsun. But some novelty is needed. Random interlude-events where we defeat a mediocre outlaw group are only interesting so far. What would really get me excited is a story arc that goes back to real big threats to Tyria or that expands on the lore about some races, especially Sylvari or Asura. And remember, we’ve only defeated 1 dragon thus far and have no idea what drives this menace.
One thing that is interesting though, is the new movement. No idea what that could involve. Climbing?

I liked all of the updates leading up to and including dragon bash, but I don’t like the sky pirates update (was just boring to me, and the rewards were not my taste). So yes I’m looking forward to the Bazaar, but mostly just because of the new achievement reward system and the fact that they are finally doing something with our home instances.
I’m partially. Though I know I’ll end up being disappointed once I see the patch notes. More temp content, probably gonna have to pay a bunch (of something) to get the achievement skins (I’m really hoping its like the HOM vendor), and home instance node will probably be once per day per account, screwing us people with alts even more.
Oh yeah, forgot, even more RNG (chance at back item from race thing against other players, other stuff from achievement points as well)
Please give us a keyring…
Not particularly. But at this point I’m just wary that any event is going to be either:
- A not so cleverly disguised gold sink.
- An attempt to shove players into content/areas that they dislike.
I hear ‘Bazaar’ but my mind hears ‘Gold/item sink!’
Not being a player with piles of gold, or a minor in economics or any love of math, enough to flip successfully – no, I’m not particularly excited at all.
Yay more back pieces? Not like I didn’t already have troubles figuring out which ones to put on which characters already…
new spvp….don’t care. all gw2 pvp is pretty boring because it’s all point capture and gear still feels imbalanced. Too fast for my taste.
Burping game… ehhhhhhhh….. It might be fun, but I started to recognize WoW for its poop quests and I kinda don’t want to look back at GW2 and go “Oh yeah, remember all the references to burping that game had? Man, who were they writing for, 9 year old boys?”
peasants had no bread and who responded: “Let them eat brioche.”
I am curious, and really happy to have more new stuff.
I am really hoping for some more elegant armor. I purchased the sky pirates armor and released I didn’t like it after all. Please can we have some elegant, stylish stuff?
I can’t wait.
That part of the living story in Southsun Cove was a major letdown for me, but none of the other parts disappointed me the slightest. Since I loved everything about the Dragon Bash and the Aetherblades, I am REALLY hyped right now.
The thing that I am looking forward the most is the new reward system that will be tied to the achievement points. I’m so excited!
Astrid Strongheart, Norn Ranger.
“I wish juvenile wolves were bigger”
The Bazaar looks Canthan to me Here’s to hope for a Cantha expansion soon
Will be nice to see what kind of stuff we can purchase with the Ach pts, maybe something that does not give Corpal Tunnel syndrome when using/buying mass amounts of items like Beer?
Arenanet could make it mutch more better.
I guess they have strong limits because of weaker PCs, but an MMO engine like this should make differences…
I mean, if your PC can handle, let it load mutch more decorations.
If not, you’ll get the basic (current one)

I’m excited for the addition to our home instances, even if it’s just a small change for now. Hopefully that means player housing is coming sooner than later?
I am excited but at same time I’m like oh no I will never have time to progress on my characters story-wise. I haven’t even finished the game!
I actually am cautiously excited – the ball is rolling.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
I can wait .. and see.
After 8 months of deleted content and hype that amounted to sorely needed bug fixes and gameplay polish, I need to see some actual improvement to get excited.
Not just some mysterious innuendo and Wallpapers.
I’m excited at the prospect of tengu becoming a more visible part of Tyira. Hopefully this is the first step to having them added to the game as a playable race.
Super excited! I like the look of the zone quite a lot.
I’m not too into the backslot items, but only because they don’t really fit my characters much. I’m interested to see more about the new armor skins and weapons skins.
I’m excited that the two new armor skins for medium MIGHT not be trenchcoats.
They probably will be though.

Haha, we can only hope! Hopefully nothing like the GW1 Assassin armor (dear god, no hugs ever), but with 95% of medium chest pieces being trenchcoats I may actually welcome it. xD
From what I read here
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/july-09-2013/
nothing at all to get me excited about the game—just more grinding and mediocre content and rewards—I’ll give it a look—but pirates really such was a let down —so much so that I really don’t care if I even try four winds.
With them pushing out mediocre content every two weeks it’s only a matter of time before they run out of decent ideas and start pushing garbage onto our clients.
I don’t know about all of you, but this looks to be the most exciting Living Story content yet.
Well … except for Super Adventure Box.
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
I think that they need to slow down a tad and release some quality content.

Please wait until the content is out before you malign it.

We can only judge based on what we’ve be given, and we’ve been given enough for someone to reasonably make their mind up one way or the other.

I am excited.
for the most part I have enjoyed the LS so far and the Bazaar of the four Winds sounds interesting and mysterious.
I am very pleased to see they are finally adding to the home instance and curious about the achievement rewards.
All in all I am eagerly looking to see where the LS takes us next.

HEH!
+1 for you good Sir.
Im excited for the rewards, i cant sleep
Im serious
I can’t expres how excited I am, espacially after seeing the previews!!!!!!!!!
I <3 u Arenanet!!!!
I wont be excited until we have some enemies lay siege to a main city. I mean a really fearsome and cool enemy like “Cultist Vegan Cannibals” have taken over the Grove.

The Zephyr Sanctum aren’t bad guys. In fact they’re almost Zen-like in their approach to life. They’re mysterious, but not necessarily dangerous.
Evon Gnashblade is the one you want to keep your eyes on.
The Living Story element of the update is concerned with filling the now open space on the Captain’s council – it’s got nothing (at the moment) to do with defeating a giant evil – its about negotiating a trade alliance between LA and the Sanctum.

Well I was kinda excited. Now the only thing I’m sorta excited about is the achievement rewards. Movement stuff sounds interesting, but I really don’t like those heights/open spaces at all.
Really thought the home instance node was going to be for each character.
Didn’t think they’d add yet another/more time gated reward/crafting/whatever you want to call it.
Yay -_-, more RNG like usual (though not necessarily cash shop only).
Please give us a keyring…
Im exited aswell everything looks good , new weps , achi rewards, new armor that will look amazing on my ranger, and ofc new content which is never bad!
After looking things over, no. Not really. What’s coming up next?
I didn’t liked sky pirates, because they wasn’t pirate, and wasn’t sky at all.
The final product was a failure.
It was just an introduction to sky pirates. I’m sure they will make a smaller appearance in BotFW. To advance the sky pirates story and lore.
The more i hear about this new Bazaar thingie, the less excited i am.
Achievement rewards seem cool, but everything else seem like Anet is making a hard effort to not learn anything on their previous mistakes.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
I’m really not.
The tempo is too fast. It’s summer. If I go on vacation for a week the amount of time left to tackle the project of the bi-week is grossly inadequate. I manage to drop in most days, but after I bang out the daily, I’m not always eager to spend another 1-3 hours advancing goals that are gonna vanish on a short timer.
The new quartz charging process sounds really, really, really grindy with 5 days of daily dinking around to do one piece of gear. And that if you have heaps of raw quartz at hand.
I’m not fond of the Obsidian sanctum. The idea of having to trudge through it dodging enemy fire to increment the meta-deed so I can avoid something on the list I really don’t want any part of… sounds pretty close to anti-fun (it annihilates fun on contact in a shower of messy particles…)
I’m not seeing much in the way of active involvement in this release. Scrabbling around on a new puzzle and grabbing baskets out on the landscape… yay?
The new achievement based rewards are delivered via RNG boxes… WTF? No one, and I mean NO ONE was asking for more ways for the game to troll you. Now you can earn 500 points, get a shiny box available no other way… and get jack squat. I’m looking for ways to move steadily towards my goals, even if the road is long. Now you can commit a hundred hours across several weeks to get that next costume unlock and not end up advancing at all. These new boxes are the work of the devil.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
I’m excited that the two new armor skins for medium MIGHT not be trenchcoats.
They probably will be though.
We haven’t seen any evidence they are full sets with coats and legs AT ALL.
So far it looks like each “set” is one helmet, shoulders, and gloves that can be applied to all three armor weights… and that’s the biggest hint it’s an incomplete set.

Are you sure? From what i have read and seen so far these boxes are not RNG at all.

Well they say the less expectations you have the better it gets.
Quartz doesn’t sound grindy at all, you can only craft one charged quartz crystal a day and while waiting for the next day you have enjoyed the event’s and earned enough quartz to charge the next day and maby next day, I can’t say this for sure, but it’s very well explain that Quartz is gained from:
- Zephyr Sanctum Supply boxes
- Kite Baskets
- Sanctum Sprint
- Trading post
- And home instance (Whe you have done the requirement’s)

It sounds like they will be as common as Halloween Candy and Dragon Bash Candy for a start.
I agree with the Obsidan sanctum thing though, that realy makes me angry.
Hehe But I can see the faces on A-net dev teams when reading about the last Obsidan Sanctum complaint’s and they are going ‘Oh Oooh… And we put that kite in there for the next Living Story O_o Can we undo it!? -No it is too late. -_-’
Edit: I am realy realy exited btw!

I’m very excited. This looks like a pretty big content patch, giving us a lot to do during the event. Seems like it’s going to be more achievements, rather than repeat 250 times a few achievements.
And the RNG seems less prevelant. We get chances at drops, but there will be fragments we’ll collect to trade for event items.
Also, the achivement overhaul seems pretty sweet. Giving clear rewards for achievement milestones, but nothing that’s game-breaking. Those last 100pts needed for the next tier might be what gets me venturing into WvW or PvP or completing the last path of that dungeon, etc.
New access to celestial items is pretty awesome. New access to laurels, quartz, skins, permanent minigame. I’m more excited for this event than any in the past. Seems like Anet is really learning from their past successes and failures.

No, would rather see all this effort go into a real expansion pack with real content! This jump through hoops for the new shiny of the week is getting old. Do we really need another currency, Crystals?
How About
- New WvW maps
- Player Homes,
- New maps to explore
