I recently bought the ‘’Wind Catcher Skin’’ from the fortune scraps vendor and I was wondering whether, if I used it once, would it be possible to obtain it back from what I applied it to? And if yes then please tell me the method.

You can transmute the appearance onto a different back piece if you want to later using transmutation stones. You will not recover the back piece you put it on initially.

As far as I’m aware, it’s not possible to get a useable skin item back once you’ve applied it to a piece of gear. That said, it is possible to transmute it using a transmutation stone. This is straightforward enough if you want to use the skin on the same character, but a little more complicated if you want to give it to another character on your account. Here’s how that’s done:

1. Obtain a backpack SET (not a cover!) from the gemstore or the tp.
2. Use the set and it will drop a cover and a white back piece. You can get rid of the cover if you wish.
3. Transmute the skin onto the back piece. Since it is of white rarity, the resultant item will be account bound.

FYI: this white-rarity trick can be used with any soulbound gear, not just back items. Blue rarity also transmutes into account bound.

What did you apply it to?

Aw man you should have merely saved those scraps and bought the helm. The backpiece is not worth it in terms of scraps since they are very cheap on the TP in terms of gold.

I think they look pretty good on Charr when combined with the matching backpiece.

On that note, I saw a human female with the wind backpiece (the blue one). And she was wearing blue hair ponytail. The total effect was epic and looked seamless from the helm to the backpiece.

O.o vision of those helmet on my HUMAN ranger and guardian caused with somekind of cultural shock on me….
just… ough…..

btw. I’m using lightning catcher or sun catcher depending on backpiece I’m using.
wind catcher has too many efects so running with this would be deadly for my fps’es.

that helmet potentiall could be good if not two things:
1. there are making head of my human characters twice as big
2. I really don’t like that beam to the skies from the top of it….
