Belcher's Bluff
Adnul is bugged i think, he can keep a 100% uptime of his signature move… If not, Anet is just being a massive kittenbag with us.
adnul has to be bugged, he can spam that skill 3 times in a row.
ERP guild looking for members.
The NPC’s have no cooldown on their signature skills (and it carries on from one match to the next even though the buff disappears).
Adnul has a different bug in addition to that where he has a 1 turn cooldown Drink (heal).
Also, NPC skills deal the proper amounts of damage/heal (10% self damage and 20% heal) whereas players have 10% heal and 20% self damage.
I beat Adnul
So it’s possible
I loved this whole mini-game….until I was against Adnul. You must be lucky with your bluffing and with his abilities to win him.
Tips I can give:
-Always start with ability #4.
-Try to keep your health up till he reaches 60% health or so.
-Use the special ability you get from the guy in the Grove (the one that reduces damage from 3 drinks.)
-Use the special ability when you have no other way to avoid his special ability, and try to make it so you use abilities #3 and #4 when his special is up.
-Always bluff when his special ability isn’t up. This is the part that requires luck, if you are unlucky, he’ll call your bluff and then instantly use his special, which means you are pretty much done for.
The good thing is, the last opponent is easier than he is.

It has an interesting Mega Man-esque style to it. Each person you beat gives you an ability, and each ability used by an opponent has another ability you can get from someone else that hard-counters it. Like using Whoo against the Charr who heals alot, or Critique against the Sylvari who bluffs a lot, or Boast against Maddie who prevents you from drinking, etc.
The norn is def cheap, and there is no cooldown on specials, npc can use special over and over toons can use it only one time
Apparently the whole game is rigged against us, as the tooltips are confirmed to report the wrong damage percentage…
it seems that way, I hope they fix it.
Due to the health (or healing/damage) indifference between the player and NPC’s it just makes this minigame extremely boring and tedious.
Due to this, it reminds me of the open world champion monsters, large amounts of health that you have to slowly chip away because this is what makes it more “fun/challenging”…
The first impressions are meant to be the defining point of the game. If this does in turn happen to be a bug, well I’m already put off the minigame from now on. If it wasn’t a bug then it wasn’t fun at all. Where is the QA :/

Whats the kittening point in this if npcs have no kittening cooldowns and no kittening pattern they use their skills? If its random, you could have just simply put it to talk to the kittening npc and hope that you will get achievement, instead of wasting my time. 3 kittening hours and there is not a slight patter that indicates how to kittening counter god kitten Adnul.
Yeah, kitten your luck based bullkitten and do something that actually requires brain instead.
I’ve tried Adnul like 15 times and I haven’t been able to beat him yet. I think the closest I got him down to was about 30% health.

15 would be nice.. I’m on try 30ish.
Beat him on the first try.
(with some help from regen buffs)
Just curious. When you unlock Signature Skills, does it unlock account-wide? Or does each character have to learn the skills themselves?
I certainly hope that unlimited Belcher’s Bluff kit isn’t character-bound!
well since the NPC’s appear to cheat you can always cheat back… (regen food)
but it is possible to beat him. I did it in about 20 tries without cheating.

They’ll patch that. Don’t worry. Anet doesn’t want us having fun. The Belcher’s thing is NOT fun by the way. It’s just another RNG luck based piece of kitten mini game. Just like EVERYTHING in the game,
Has anybody else had a problem getting the title from this? The only reason that I did these is because i wanted “Omnomivore” and now it seems to be gone out of the game.
I heard about the omnomivore title and wanted it, so I tried doing this. Thankfully I got lucky on Adnul (no regen needed for me). He took about five tries. Then I defeated the Grandmaster of Om in one try, but I did not get at title. Considering the fact that many people would try this game for the title only, this should get fixed.

The title is rewarded for completing all of the Belcher’s Bluff achievements, not just defeating all the masters. (EDIT: The achievements are under Activities > Belcher’s Bluff for those who haven’t seen them.)
Only 5 hours trying to beat Adnul Irongut I’m having so much “FUN” he breaks my EVERY heal I just love wasting so much time on a really hard content to get fantastic rewards!
I give up. Is this really for casual players ? To spend all free day on trying to beat up 1 guy in a mini game ? kitten …
There was a thread about that guy… and a hint how to beat him. But seems it was considered “exploit” and got ninja deleted without even PM. You might ask others in the game.. probably not allowed to post it at the forums anymore. But everyone is using it.
Edit: And they hopefully will not fix only the exploit but also balance that guy a bit since they already know from the thread that he is a pain and people only beat him by luck with trying for hours.

Took me about 15 minutes without any food/buff cheats or other exploits. I guess I was just lucky.
I used the signature skill that gives a buff to next water heal when he was pretty low and I was able to endure his signature spam long enough.
It’s like fighting a champion. The NPC’s get to have awesome stats and abilities, because they’re NPCs. This is a PvP minigame… the NPCs are just there for achievements and special abilities. If you wanna fight fair, play against other players.
Adnul Irongut … I didn’t make it =/
Legacy of Alchera [LOA] – czech
Piken Square [EU]
I can recommend “Mango Pie” = Gain 85 health every second +70 Vitality.
Kind of weird but I thought Poyaqui was the easiest one.
sapphire 6950 2gb.
8 GB Ram – Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
Pro tip – mango pie + health booster = win
Pro tip – mango pie + health booster = win
it’s also cheating – technically. though since the game is about bluffing/cheating, it makes sense.
I beat them all, including adnul, but it’s completely about luck. counting your opponents drinks to anticipate a belch is about the only strategy possible (and yes, mango pies).
I guess once they fix the bugs with heal/dmg ratios, it might get a bit easier and less annoying, so if you’re near the point of destroying your keyboard, just wait for the next patch.
if you party with someone and you both enter the instance, it might be possible to get healed by the other player, haven’t tested it yet.
That pesky furrball. If only belching removed his “super-water” move. I belch, he drinks more water the next pass and gets healed back to full. I don’t belch and he heals back to full.
Edit: Ah, i see. First Maddie, then the furball. Just like playing Mega Man…
I’m going on a day and a half with Adnul.. TWICE I have gotten to within a grain of his health and he still beats the tar out of me.. Adnul has to be bugged; Maddie never spammed her special as much as this guy does.
kitten , I posted this wrong. He is bugged and impossible unless the 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 % chance he doesn’t spam his do not bluff move doesn’t occur twice within 4 moves without the prevent heal counter. At that point you cannot win.
I beat Adnul

It’s always possible to be lucky

Pretty much what I did and it worked like a charm. Beat him my first time. Thanks for the tips. Bluffing constantly when his signature is down was the key for me. That and using belch every chance I got. It was a close tie at the end, but that powerful low health belch took him out.
And yeah the “grandmaster” was a chump. Easier then Maggie was for me. xD
Now to find players willing to chain farm 50 games with me. >.<
I finally managed to beat adnul after about 3 hours. I only managed to do it because I got extremely lucky and interrupted his heals 3 times. I was using the “Boast” special ability for anyone wondering.

Thanks for the food advice whoever that was!
