Smough The Cruel [WvW] – Warrior
Now THAT offers some insight. That area certainly is not in the game right now. There appear to be rather large mountains in the background and the landscape seems somewhat familiar to Southsun Cove in that it seems tropical (the waterfalls, light blue water, the rock formations). This area must be in the Sea of Sorrows, which would be fitting considering the story, and the new book. There is obviously a rather large base/camp/city there going up that massive pillar and the surrounding area. Also, those floating things that kind of look like carpets are Asuran. Asurans did, after all, create the Consortium, so this could certainly be the Consortium’s main location, which could also be the base of the Aetherblades (my theory is that the Consortium created the Aetherblades).
If this is a new zone (I don’t want to get hyped too much), I can’t really see it fitting anywhere else in the Sea of Sorrows except for the area between Southsun Cove and Sparkfly Fen. There are mountains on the Sparkfly Fen side, and of course water and tropics on Southsun’s side. Also, you’ll notice in Sparkfly Fen that there is a road leading through the mountains in the west that would presumably go to a new future zone. This might just be that zone.
As to why it can’t be anywhere else, the area north of Southsun Cove and east of Caledon Forest is Tengu territory, as is the area directly west of Lion’s Arch. Then there is Claw Island southwest of LA, and another island south of Claw Island, but considering this area has large mountains, it most likely can’t be there.
Cantha.
I said it.
But domain of winds is a good second bet. There’s a tengu on the forefront.

It does look a lot like Cantha from GW2. Trying not to get my hopes up….
@marnik: I can’t see a Tengu on this picture
What is “BotFW”? I’m guessing “Battle of the ? ?”?
the W could stay for winds, since the new dungeon takes place beyond the wall and we’ll get kites with the next patch. Dominion of the Winds, here we come?!
I thought it was “Battle of the Forgotten World” and honestly I’m sticking to that rather than be disappointed by a non-Cantha update
Battle of the Feathered Wings

It’s most likely Blank of the Blank Blank; could be “on the” instead of “of the” but that’s less likely. I’m both hopeful and expectant for it to be Four Winds, because I’ve been hoping for an update involving the Tengu for a long while! The most recent “article” on the site that’s “written” by Ellen Kiel mentions that the Aetherblades flew into Lion’s Arch airspace from the southwest. The only logical place to go to now is the Tengu territory over there… or at least somewhere in the Sea of Sorrows, but the “Four Winds” just makes sense! If it’s not Battle of the Four Winds, perhaps it could be Bastion of the Four Winds? Dominion of Winds is definitely the bastion of the four Tengu factions, and perhaps that tower in the wallpaper could be the structure that is itself the Dominion of Winds.
I guess we’ll have to wait a few more days to see!
I’d love to see this Blank of the Blank Blank. Awesome title for an update.

Or Battle of the Free Waypoints. Now wouldn’t that be a content patch … one single line:
- Waypoints are now free
Full update for the month.

I wish that would happen.
Also, whoever said something about wind might be right, due to some ofthe new stuff data mined on reddit.
Please give us a keyring…
Looks like something in Southsun cove to me
It’s gotta be the Dominion of Winds. There is too much evidence in the .dat to back it up. Too bad that that anything datamined from the .dat file has recently become illegal to post on these forums.
So check my reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1h69le/wallpaper_botfw/carozpa
Tengu have four colors to represent their four houses and these four colored items were recently added to the .dat file. There are other pieces with these four colors but it was only necessary to post these. They look like helms.

I’m not saying it’s Cantha…
But it’s Cantha.

Looks like a content update for something bigger, like an introduction to a new zone or two.
Boy, the hype train rolled out of the station at top speed for this release! There’s several threads speculating what this update will contain. You can count me on board!
Bastion of the Four Winds?
If it is in the Dominion, I think you might have it there.
I… have my doubts, though. There’s a lot of recognisably human figures there, and not much in the way of tengu as would be expected if this was a tengu-oriented location. Nor other races, for that matter – there aren’t any figures that stick out enough to be norn (unless they all are), are short enough to be asura, or hunched enough to be charr.
Plus, while hovering carpets have been associated with asura, we also saw them in Vabbi. Thus, if I had to make a call, I’d say it’s an Elonian settlement, possibly a refugee settlement somewhere hidden in the Crystal Desert, or possibly Scavenger’s Causeway.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
I’d love to see this Blank of the Blank Blank. Awesome title for an update.
Surely then it’d be Blank of the Flank Wlank?

Your judgments are pretty reasonable. I agree that there probably would be a decent number of tengu in the artwork if it were Dominion of Winds… Buuuut it could be mostly other races from Lion’s Arch flocking (pun intended) to the Dominion after their doors have finally opened! Unfortunately, that still doesn’t explain why it appears to be mostly humans. Lion’s Arch IS in Kryta, the human kingdom…? But that’s not a very good excuse, haha. We’ll find out tomorrow!
I want to say Tengu also, the structures remind of Cantha, but it has to be pointed out thgat all non-humans were essentially forced to leave Cantha. The Tengu were pretty well established there, so it’s not a stretch to assume the Dominion is dominated by Canthan Tengu.
As for why there seem to be no Tengu, it is possible what we see there is simply a entrance, and the crowd is the LA population exploring it due to it recently being opened. The Tengu could be watching from the shadows.
All speculation of course, we’ll see soon, and I can fully see it being Elonian also.

i honestly don’t git a kitten where or what it is just as long as they don’t nerf the ranger again -____-
