Hi folks,
I have a small problem, just completed 75 races (5x Frequent Sprinter) and still have no catcher. I meet guy who recieve 2 in first two races, races where 4 players get thair catcher a i still have nothing. So i ask, what is % chace to drop catcher and can it be buged? Or im doing something wrong? I can win nearly everytime i want after all these runs..

Most people I talk to, and myself included, got the skin from not winning. Have you tried that =)
But it’s random, like many other drops.

Here’s my data.

I ran 61 races, most of which I won. I got the Lightning Catcher Skin the first race of a session, in which I placed fifth because I started about halfway.

The 61th race also was the first race of a session, in which I placed sixth. The chest contained the Wind Catcher Skin I was looking for.

It probably is coincidence, though.

Funny thing: exotic/rare rarely come to whoever get 1, 2, or 3. But if you are number 4,5,6,7,8,9, you have bigger chance to get exotic/rare (dunno its coincidence or not, everytime I ask player who get rare/exotic said they dont get rank 1 – 3). (I played 5 times yesterday, my rank is 7, 10, 3, 2, 9, I get exotic when I rank 7 and 9).

From my experience, about 45 races or so. Roughly a dozen first place finishes no catcher drops from those. From finishing 4th or worse 3 sun and a wind. I have seen 2 people that finished first link one after opening the chest. Of course there could have been others since not everyone links their drops. I have a pretty strong feeling that where you place has no real affect on the drop rate.

I’ve done 40 races and got one skin – the sun catcher.

Pure coincidence. The RNG chest at the end is the same for everyone.

got the lightning catcher from a race on 9th place. got none from many 1st-5th place.

Pretty much the same as OP here. 65 races and no catcher drop for me.

Hmm 6x frequent sprinter, 90 races and still nothing.. this smells like a bug.. can realy everyone get catcher? or only who payed some money/ have lvl 80/ or something like this has a chance to get it?

It’s the same RNG for everyone. I’ve bought gems & have 7 lvl 80s…..

RNG is a cruel mistress.

After my 5th run or so I started winning every time, and got a Wind Catcher on ~20th run. After that I did probably another 20, and got nothing.

91 races for me so far. No skins. One person last night told me he got his first skin on his 107th race. Getting a skin, any skin, is now a mini-game in itself for me. The race itself is no longer challenging. I want to beat the RNG.

157 races…. about 75% wins… 1 wind catcher (6th), 1 sun catcher (1st) both within the first 100 races… plus 4 rare weapon drops

I’ve noticed that he 6th place usually wins you a catcher while betterplaces not really :o

Up to 105 races now. No skins.

It’s not about the skin, it’s about beating the RNG. I already bought the one I wanted.

120 races now, no skin. I think I own the world record.

Edit: I just threw the numbers into an online calculator, assuming 5% chance to get a skin (what others have guessed). There’s only a 0.2% chance of me not getting one in 120 tries. On the one hand, darn I’m unlucky. On the other hand, it’s not as ridiculous as I thought.

It’s the nature of RNG. If you really want a catcher, run CoF not the race. Buying it from the TP is much easier than gambling for it in the mini-game.

I was racing for some loot and stopped at the line in 1st for some others to get a shot at the achieve. I was joking saying I was going to wait for 12th because the drop rate on the catchers is higher for 12th. Sure enough I had another one drop LOL.

Well turns out 146th time’s a charm. Finally got a wind catcher skin.

You should need to remember: you can get catcher skin by: get golden fortune (sth) and fortune scrap exchange. (all of them without using gems (except you want shortcut)).

And if you want: sun or lighting: better buy it in TP (waste your time in CoF if you dont have 3 g)
