Celestial!
it’s the gear that has all the stat types on it
Celestial has already existed in GW2. But I wonder if the release of this prefix on armor is a nod to an upcoming Cantha expansion.
Yea, making a Canthan influenced event lead to the ability to craft Celestial armor seems to be a cool decision. Cantha in gw1 had a lot of “Celestial” things, like the mission to become Closer to the Stars and defeat many Celestial beings.
I do hope we can return to Cantha in the game one day as well – it is such a beautiful place. The Jade Sea, the forests, the city… so much beauty and such a shame that it isn’t already in the game.
I agree completely. Cantha was one of my favorite places, and it was very appealing to the eyes. There were just so many different kinds of places there.
People are talking a lot about Cantha one thing i want to note is it has a coastline and could have been completely obliterated from when Orr rose depending on geography. Not to mention bubbles. What once was probably isn’t what is now. Dragons drawn to sources of magic if there was any in Cantha it is probably obliterated and occupied by a dragon which is why there has been no word or trade with Cantha.
One thing i want to note though is notice how wide spread flying ships are we got pirates and merchants when the asura was struggling with the concept of flight in 2nd gw2 book not 1 year ago.
Anyone know how many different recipes there are?
From what I have seen it takes you 5 days to make one piece of armor/weapon and it is account bound. So you cannot trade them and for the entire armor it will take 30 days to create it. If you also want the weapons 5 days per weapon.
That is crazy. If you have many chars it will take months to make these armors. Is there something that I’m missing? Is there a way to create them faster?
It’s because Anet hates eles, the only class that benefits from celestial gear.

Celestial doesn’t give enough toughness so it’s kind of useless for ele.

It gives just as much toughness as everything else, HUZZAH!
Eles benefit from all 3 defensive stats (vitality, toughness, and healing power) since we have the lowest hp pool in game (need vitality to survive conditions) and our skills scale well with healing power. Armor/toughness is actually needed the least since we get protection from attuning to earth/armor of earth skill and a lot of toughness while channeling skills with obsidian focus trait.
Celestial also provides enough offense that we don’t hit like wet noodles. The crit damage coupled with our nearly permafury is most important. Celestial in PvE provides more total stat points than any other set, and since eles can use all of them, it is a no-brainer.
