I understand that if you earn the Quartz node in your home instance that it is a permanent addition.

My question: Is the opportunity to unlock the node temporary?

I am away from home and and may not be able to log into the game for a month. Having a node to farm Celestial materials sounds pretty important. Might I miss out on the ability to produce quartz mats?

You will need to get 16 of the meta achievements before it is over, I think in a few weeks, not sure.

The node is kind of important aside from you can only harvest it once a day. Given that, it would take a long time to harvest enough to craft the items. Also you will need the recipes but you can buy them off the TP. Some are pretty pricey right now and will probably go up after the event ends.

i’m hoping to get either an official reply about the time-frame to unlock the node or a link to a source where that time-frame is already stated. i’ve scoured through all the info i can find and i feel like Anet is failing to communicate clearly what is temporary and what is permanent. (not trying to sound negative, just honest…i wouldnt be here if i didnt really care)

The Gift of Quartz I believe is only available this month. Now how to explain this….. Since I have the node already, if you were to party with me, you can enter the home instance with me. Then farm the node that I have there. Thus, if you are in a guild, it shouldn’t be too hard to farm them in the future.

They are also on the TP for cheap. So you can always buy some.

Indeed, but what the OP is asking is how long you can OBTAIN the permanent node, not how long the permanent node will exist.

Chance to obtain the node is temporary – only through current living story event. Perhaps there will be other options later on (and perhaps not), but that is currently not known.
