So, if this quartz node is something we get through the home instance, does this mean that ANet will be working more with the home instance in the future? Maybe is this the first step towards player housing or a similar feature?
I have my fingers crossed in hopes that it may be. =P
I would love to see them do more to make me want to go to my home instance. Gathering node probably isn’t going to do it for me, but more story elements sure would.
It’s good news that they’re starting to work on the home instance. I’m looking forward to the player housing. I just hope that any house or guild upgrades can have a choice between gold or influence as payment.
I’m always broke never had more than 8g to my name I would like to be able to log into a “home” guild and use any influence points I get to buy house upgrades. This way I can be constantly earning stuff for my house and if I get some spare money I can buy a round of drinks.
(dont know how to add a quote )

Maybe the player housing will have bookcases in it for things like Marjorys journal and the new four winds model, any of the new story rewards we’re starting to get.
Yea, I love GW2, but when I look at player housing in games like Wildstar (especially Wildstar), FFXIV, Rift, etc., I get jealous. I mean, I don’t want to play a different game, but this is really something that GW2 needs to get on board with.
If nothing else, customizeable player/guild housing would give players a lot of new potential rewards to work for since there’s a limit to how appealing new gear/weapon skins can be once you already have a huge selection to choose from.
Hopefully it does at least mean that we will get permanent additions to add to our “home” regardless. Glad to see they are putting that empty instance to use though.
Reminds me of the node gathering crap in Aion. I say crap because Aion got to a point I found annoying. xD One node isn’t an issue though.
Maybe eventually we can get a free travel a day to our Home Instance then? :P I can dream right.
You should have some Skritt, I finally found them in my human main’s home instance — more towards the hospital from the inn, I think? They don’t take center stage like the Hylek. Also you should find NPC’s in there. I have Lord Faren in the noble house couch and the Priory guy in the Commoner house upstairs. They don’t do anything, they just stare blankly.

If they’re going to be adding to the home instances, or even if not, I’d like it if they added a free, direct travel button. Similar to the ‘go to guild hall’ button in GW. That or a permanent item to use such as the HoM item that takes you there and back to original location. It would save steps to get there that players will otherwise use to get there without fee; Mists, LA, home city, home instance. Of course with that we don’t get the return trip that would be so nice.
So the Applied Development Lab is my Asura’s home instance!
I thought it was just part of the Personal Story that I left behind long ago. Why would I want to spend any time there?
The Applied Development Lab needs some serious work if it’s going to be somewhere worth visiting, let alone become somewhere an adventuring Asura would call home.
is ure do hope so!D i really ought to go back to my home instance, just to “check in”.
now i wouldn’t mind, with all that extra stuff we’re getting through each release, which is more or less, every 2 weeks now.. that we get an armor gallery in our home insatnce too. this has been brought up in the past before as well but might as well brign it up again ; )))
a place where we can store all our skins that we already own. or even a weapon rack say. so kind of like your bank, but in your home instance, for weapons and armor. and maybe you can even display certain sets, a la assassin’s creed 2.
and yes to the mini pets idea.

That’s okay, the Home Instance would have Forgal in the barracks training the troops or have Tybalt buying apples at the market in mine.
Oh the feels… And that Plush Tybalt Backpack killed me.
I figuratively cried desperately in front of my computer when I saw that.
Figuratively.
I wish we could find them somewhere in the mists. That would be nice, you know, knowing that they are alright despite… Well, being dead. Tybalt could be with his warband and Forgal with his family. Sieran could be with Riannoc, too. That would make me so happy…
But if they somehow escaped (seems unlikely, but…), it would be so good to have them in our Home Instance! We should go in a mission to rescue them at some faraway island where they ended up after being thrown in the sea by the dragon (yes, this should totally have happened in Claw Island because of reasons). They would look at us and say “What took you so long, kid?”, “Ohh I knew you would find me! This is so cherry!” and “If it isn’t my best buddy! Did you bring me some apples?”.

Hopefully they add a way to remove those Hylek’s that are stinking up my home instance and replace them with Quaggans (or Kasmeer Meade).
I’ll take Inspector Ellen Kiel or Hiroki, but yeah I do like this thought.
I’ll take Sieran over them all
SHUT UP SHE’S ALIVE

Yeah I preferred them over Sieran. She was kinda annoying.
I think I liked Forgal more than Tybalt though. I definitely miss them more than I do Sieran.
and the Priory guy in the Commoner house upstairs.
I have two of them.

Being a fan of the GW1 HoM (And the 250-years-after one as well, it’s very nostalgic and although I know it’s impossible, I’d like it to be a kind of a home instance), I can’t wait to see what are the devs planning.

No, No, No! Mummified flesh on the left! Dried bones on the right!

I like how you think.
Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!
They’ll be back as undead/zombies in a LS patch, just like you know who :p
When I went back to Claw Island with my first character (a norn that picked the Vigil), I thought I would face undead Forgal. Of course, I was happy that it never happened, but it would have made sense. Since Sylvari can’t be corrupted, Sieran wouldn’t be able to come back as undead, but that would make sense for Forgal and Tybalt.
I hope it never happens, though
Please do, I’ll even install mines in the doorway so he’ll never leave! lol
Awesome <3
Though Elinor (my sylvari), being clumsy as she is, would probably end up accidentally blowing up the entire Grove if you did that lol
And blaming Canach.
