Yeah I tried for about 2 hours before I finally beat him. My guild had a good laugh at me raging while on RaidCall. The trick is to keep your health high but don’t bluff all the time if you just used your belch. Also don’t pop your Boast until you are around 2k health (1 drink from dying). Also, even when he has Critique, bluffing sometimes makes you take less damage than drinking. I’ve had drinks take 2k while bluffs with Critique take 1.5k damage from me.
But in the end, it really is luck. Also, time his belches. He is a mind reader, but he can’t just always use it. Try to get him to waste it. He unlocks it every 4th drink. Also time his heals when he is popping Critique.

Yeah I wish my norn warrior could also withstand 20 drinks like Adnul does.

If Belcher’s Bluff was lore-wise then Norn characters would have supremacy over all other omnomberry juice drinkers hands down. But then it wouldn’t have been fair for other races.

Actually, Hylek are almost immune to toxins so they would probably be better…

The problem: omnomberry juice is more toxic for their immunity system (everytime he drinks one, he needs to roar :p).

I agree with the thread title, I would gladly kerosene the entire Norn homeland (even though three of my characters are norn) if it means Adnul would suffer an exquisitely painful death.
Don’t forget to throw the other grandmasters into Hoelbrak when it’s burning.
Well, except maybe for the Asura, the Sylvari and the Hylek. They can stay.
There is really only one trick to Adnul. And that is catching his heal two/three times in a row. The problem is when you know the heal is available you’ve got a 50 percent chance at best, and occasionally a 33 percent chance of actually catching it at the right time.
I’ve beat him only once on my main, and that was using mango pie before they “nerfed” him and locked those out. I’ve since tried again on alts and gotten screwed every time.
Even using Woo instead of Boast doesn’t help control his heal well enough. If you are good at Belcher’s and understand Adnul, it still comes down to blind luck as to whether you beat him.

Yea, I’ve played him at this point roughly 35 times. I understand Belcher’s Bluff, I understand how his skills work, I know about timings and when his skills are off cooldown. NONE OF THIS MATTERS! You can do everything perfect and still lose because he decides to use his skill back to back -or- which happened to me multiple times last night, you get Punished for Bluffing when he is neither using his skill or belching. There’s some kind of bug that randomly makes you take damage. It’s like if you bluff for your first move, you take damage whether he uses Belch or not.
I’ve gotten him down to 5-10% or so, but the amount of luck involved with beating him is quite frustrating. I consider myself a master at this game by now and it still just comes down to dumb luck.

Yes, I’m having trouble with Andul too. I’ve been trying for the past hour and I just can’t do it. Even if it starts off well, it all goes downhill very quickly.

Make sure its set to only Change Appearance, ( doesn’t matter much but easier ). Then when you start the Belcher with him, just click the box to transform and watch your health instantly be refilled each time. Just make sure you re transform. Laugh as he dies slowly.

This guy really is not fun anymore. I already disagreed with the WvWvW JP, but this really made me feel different about living world. For kittens sake, after 6 hours of trying to kill him I got myself a gem card and had to buy 25 euro worth of keys to drop a life boost with which I was able to finish him.
This is a very cheap way to force players to spend money, a very cheap way.

Water is supposed to heal 20% and it heals only 10% and JUICE is supposed to dmg for 10% NOT for 20%.

The ratios are correct. Adnul just is a bit too tough. Others are pushovers.

Nope, juice is supposed to do 20% and heal is supposed to do 10%. Why on earth would it be the other way around!!
Also, Belcher’s Bluff has very little to do with the Living Story outside of the achievement you can get for beating all of the masters before this 2week period is over. It is a permanent mini game that you can complete at your leisure even after the Bazaar leaves.

he is the hardest of them all . but with a lote of luck you will beat him..
Don’t worry! Anet said they will make him less mean. And by that, they won’t update him until after the event.
The only thing that annoyed me with him isn’t hat he’s hard and kinda buggy, but that he is REQUIRED to do the temporary content in the bazaar, since you need him to do the last grandmaster to get all 6 sig. moves which you need for 2 achievements.

Anet please stop including stuff like this in living story. It’s pathetic. Wasting 6 hours for just PART of an achievement. Time is better spend then on this.

Adnul cheats. Hard. The programming takes what could be a fun game and ensures that no one will want to touch it ever again. Who ever is responsible for his current state needs an extended vacation, because the level of hatred expressed towards the playerbase is plain unhealthy.
Why is it that pretty much every patch, mixed in with the good stuff, is always something clearly designed to turn a positive, fun event into something frustrating and sad? It not only is contemptuous of the players, but of all the other designers who work on the game.
