Guild Wars 2

Since its Bazaar full of merchants with rare goods and all that good stuff. It would be really nice to see all the infinite gathering tools show up for this. Just so those of us that missed that could have another shot at them. Or hell make them permanent.

Perhaps some other handy things, just not event specific skins.

I’d buy the other 2 as well as the current logging axe if they brought them back.
Sadly the other 2 came out when I wasn’t really playing.

So they basically should screw over the guys that were forced to buy it at the time because it was advertised as limited content ?

I dont think this will happen and really really hope this will not happen.

How is that screwing them over (assuming the price is the same)? The earlier you buy it, the better return you get on it as an investment, so how does that in any way hurt them?

I agree with the OP and Gumby, I really want that Infinite Mining Pick I was too cheap to get when it came out, but I also don’t want to diminish the value of the items people got that were advertised as limited edition.

Maybe Arenanet can put out some lackluster permanent gathering tools for the same price? That way people who missed them can still have an infinite gathering tool but people who were there for the originals and forked over gems still have something special. just a thought.

I dont know if this is a joke or if you’re serious ….

A. It would be false advertisement to say its limited (to force people to buy it and crank up the sales ) but then offer it again later to make money of another sale.

B. Its not an “investment” its accountbound you cannot sell it. If you mean by “investment” that you save the gold to buy gathering tools you can rather call it “convenient”, because to be profitable you’d need to mine about 70k times in order to finally have the cost that you initially paid for the thing.

And i dont think it would be justified to let the thing reappear after 1 month, you hardly would’ve mined enough by then to have an “advantage” over other players.

C. It would hurt the people that decided to spend their budget on the unlimited gathering tool instead of another (limited content) item that they wanted.

I really really really dont understand how the problems arent obvious to you. But you are probably just trying to find excuses because you missed out (which is your fault) and want that bloody thing.

These infinite tools are/were very popular. Anet would be stupid not to bring them back on sale every few months or so (with different skins and effects to encourage even more sales). I’d say just be patient and save up some gems.

In the end, Anet is in business to make money. I’m sure they’ll provide a means to that end.

I say a ONE DAY “We bring them back today, get them all before they go away forever” would probably be the best of both worlds. I was not able to pay for the mining pick at the time and only got the information at the last few days =/ so I am truly annyoed over not having my full set.

I would quite like the opportunity, in the future, to buy infinite tools for my alts as well. It looks to me as though they have released each tool to coincide with the visual “theme” of the LS episode they were released with. So perhaps we will see more infinite tools in the future, but with different visual effects to go with them … that would be splendid!

They could just as easily make unlimited tools without the effects. You can’t pull the “limited time” card, as the effects items remain limited. The “investment/whatever” bit is solved by keeping the same price point, though slightly cheaper would make sense (the car with all the options is more than the same model without them). And the bit about deciding what to spend one’s budget on is just silly; they chose that the flashy tool was more important to have than the other options, then see point on price point as the amount required to spend remains (near) equal.

I wouldn’t mind an unlimited mining pick with a different animation. Unfortunately I was foolish enough to not buy the mining pick the first time around and am suffering non-buyers remorse, I’d gobble up a new one however.

the only one worth it is the mine pick. because logging isn’t really rewarding and harvesting don’t use the sickle all that much much..

What about 800 gems for a non animated, vanilla unbreakable (and soulbound) gathering set? I’m happy to have the entire story themed set for my main Charr (yes not char) And I, not so much secretly, enjoy this kind of “eliteness”.
So yes I won’t cry if they bring in game a vanilla set of eternal gathering tools.

Right. I have the original set on my Mesmer, but I gladly buy another set with different effects for one of my other frequently used alts. Now I feel guilty for mining a cooper node on my warrior to complete the daily, but I happily jump out of my way with the mesmer to chop down a low level sapling

C’mon. Companies do this all the time. Shamrock shakes are available for a limited time every St. Patrick’s day, big screen TV’s go on sale every Memorial day weekend (this sale won’t last forever!), and if you translated “for a limited time” to “I have to by it NAOW!” then you fell for the marketing pressure.

It doesn’t screw you over at all the next time they become available “for a limited time”.

For the record, I have no interest in these things, so I’m not saying the above out of self-interest because I want them to become available again.

I would actually love for them to bring out a set of infinite gathering tools without the special animations. I like the idea of the tools themselves, but the effects put me off because I think whilst they’re cool to see every once in a while seeing it every single time I gather something would get a little annoying.

I think either that or bringing them back every few months with different effects (hopefully eventually there will be one I like) would be a good move all around. If people really bought them just to have something rare and “special” they’ve still got their ‘first edition’ version to brag about, but people who liked the idea and for whatever reason couldn’t get them at the time will have another chance.
