What would you think if the election was server based? In this interview at 1:30

Colin says that eventually he wants players to have an impact on the living story and that the current living story would differ server to server. Could this be the first test of that? I think it’s possible but highly unlikely since something as big as a fractal being different server to server would be hard to implement correctly. But I wanted to know if anyone thought of this interview when they read about the new election and what you think about the idea of it being different on each server.

I really don’t like the idea of missing out of rewards and dungeons based on other players actions. I’m all for having options that I can choose for myself though that only affect me.

I doubt that will be the case at all. Instead, I’m thinking that the content patch will be 50/50 split in player support of one candidate or another. This is similar to what they did for Secrets of Southsun, which did the same thing when players either supported the Refugees or the Consortium.

The over all choice of candidate and the outcome of what events follow, are already set in motion and won’t change based on player interaction (nor will anything else within 2013, a mapped out plan already set way back in March).

hmmm so if we guest to other servers we can experience different stories!

I want to take part in the Living Story, but make an personal impact?

Take the Karka Event f.e. The all fought off the Karka, we part of the Lionsarch Defenders. You can see that as having an impact on the story. (Ofc in the end it didn’t matter for the event on how many servers and overflow servers the event failed).

I like the election idea, and in the end, when you meet the winner again in another part of the living story, it might be fun., when the content will be the same, just with another candidate showing up.
Don’t like the idea of a more split content, where you’d have to change the server to take part in both.

After pushing Kiel and RNG boxes so hard, I’d be surprised if Evon (BLC leader) got more than 10% of the vote.
