Thrill to win is still there with the right perspective, and competition is alive and well without the need for the game to tell you came in first.

No, I wouldn’t leave it as just a nice deed from Leires. I respect what he/she did, but more of these would ruin the competition and turn it into an organized achievement event.

Or maybe people could get the achieve thanks to nice people and then keep on competing to see if they could get it for real, with less anxiety and pressure?
I finally got top 3 this morning, coming in 2nd. I haven’t lucked into any groups with people holding back at the finish line yet. I can’t blame latency or lag on my fails, it’s all on me being a slow reflexes person and not fully understanding what the various pick up skills do. I still don’t know what the “shortcut” is, though maybe I’m taking it without knowing.

Some of us have so much latency and glitchyness out of the sanctum sprint the only way we can hope to finish anything but last if if someone has gone afk or is also suffering tha latency induced problems.
People like Leires are our only hope of getting the achievement points, except of course as long as someone like Xephiare is in the race we have no chance.
So, sorry to kill you buzz but there is no competition, you’re not winning thanks to skill. Most of your victories ride on the back of the fact you’re one of the lucky ones who don’t have any significant latency issues.

I look at it this way. If I win 2 more more races in a row against the same group of players I don’t consider it some major achievement and really some exciting competition. At that point I bow out and find a different group so perhaps the group I was with would have a more level playing field. It really isn’t competition or rewarding to beat up on the same group of players constantly. If I stop at the line for someone to get first I don’t consider it a big deal either because I knew I was first but just didn’t cross the line. I don’t have some pressing desire to see my name at the top of the results over and over. At this point I just go to the races as a change of pace from other game play and to get a few coins.

You guys get lag when you activate the #2 skill and fall because it doesn’t cancel? And when you jump to platforms, you magically appear to your last checkpoint, assuming you died? Yeah, I get that. There may be more lag issues, but I’m still adamant to my point that doing more of these organized achievement giving will influence others to do the same, then it will be hard to play this mini game for fun without people trying. However, If this game isn’t permanent, then I would agree with your achievement gathering thing to be given a title for first.
Maybe I get less lag than others, but I really don’t think my internet/latency is great at all. I know how it feels being first then bugging to your death, then being 3rd, then 7th because it occurs again 20 seconds after.
I was under the impression that this race was temporary. Also I still race to see if someone in the group can beat me. I just don’t need the leader board to tell me I’ve won and there are other aspects of the game that I need the kindness of others to do well in so I don’t mind helping out when I can.
All I’ve gotten out of this thing is trolls and kittens which makes me feel like uninstalling this kitten game at times. I CANNOT WAIT to finaly be done with the achievements that condemn me to back in this race again and again.
I was in a race group earlier that was doing something similar and seeing this sort of thing makes me realise how good the community in this game can be.
As an aside, despite being an oceanic player I did manage to get my first place achievement legitimately, well mostly legitimately, there were only 2 of us running the race.
