Screw Adnul Irongut
Yes. I quite agree.
Can’t disagree with you there.
After 5 hours of trying I still haven’t bested him.
Keeping track of his water and belch helps, but it turns a 0.01% chance to win into a 1% chance.
I still can’t believe Anet gave the greenlight to that guy and thought " Yes, I think this will be an opponent players will find enjoyable to battle against."
The person who agreed on his implementation is worse than youknowwho.
i feel ya, I just beat him using a rejuvination booster, and banner buffs on my warrior. Still had to get extremely lucky.
I followed this guy’s strategy and got a one shot victory:

I tried a few different strategies and here’s what worked for me, this was pre any patch so it should still work.
- Pick Boast as your signature move
- Always bluff… if he interrupts it with a belch, belch back and drink water in that order.
- This should keep your own health from dropping as fast as his, with luck you’ll interrupt a heal or two and you’ll go into the next phase with a big advantage.
- Eventually he hits a threshold where he’ll start spamming his signature move.
- Use belch, drink water, drink in that priority unless you can get a bluff in.
- Once you get close to 3,000 or so health use boast.
- Try to time your abilities so you use belch at below 20% health to do a large amount of damage.
If he gets too many belches, or your losing health much faster than him just surrender and try again. It will take some luck but it’s possible and this strategy is simple enough that you can spam games until you get lucky.
I tried for 8 hours in the end, without a win. I’m guessing there isn’t much time left before the Bazaar is over, so I assume ArenaNet isn’t going to change his play style in any way. It is beyond ridiculous to the point of insulting, but what can I do about it other than pointlessly complain on the forums..
On the plus side, I’m an expert on counting cards up to 4 now.

hmm thanks for sharing!
i will give this a try tonight.
wish me luck ahha!

Um, belcher’s bluff is a permanent addition so not sure of your rush unless you really want the sixth skill, which isn’t that good anyway. Even if it wasn’t a permanent addition and goes when the bazaar goes, it is still here for another 3 weeks.
And good luck Deimos Tel Arin.7391

Yeah but you will only get the achievement (AFAIK) if you beat the grandmaster within this week.

Oh that’s good.. I haven’t been able to keep up with news, but thought they were working on a 2-week cycle for new content that also ended the last content – but if it’s around for 3 weeks I may yet get to spend another 10 hours trying to win.. yey?
And yes, I’d just like to get the title more than anything else, which involves picking up the 6th skill before it ends.
New content may be coming every 2 weeks, but not all is temporary and each month’s 2 content update are related. Just like last month’s Dragon Bash was just a beginning to the Sky Pirates of Tyria content. The Bazaar of the Four Winds is just a beginning to the Cutthroat Politics content.

I approve of this method. This is exactly what I did (although I didn’t read it hear, just made it up myself) and bested Andul on my 4th try. First 3 tries were where I figured out this strategy.

I approve of this as well.
Second attempt and I won almost easily, it was awesome~!
I hate Adnul and the sadist that created him.
That’s more or less what I’ve been trying to do too. I haven’t gotten it yet.
Frankly, strategy or not, he simply isn’t fun.
It’s easy to fall into a pattern where he interrupt your water while getting a free pass himself. But he’s pretty straightforward once you know how to break his routine.
The guide is good, here’s how I proceed to break the mentioned pattern. Start with a real drink, then two bluffs. Belch now and you will interrupt him. Keep bluffing until you either get interrupted, then use water for the last punished round, or until he start his special. Always take bluff if possible and save water and belch for when his buff is up. Don’t plan the belch around your own health, if he hasn’t drunk water for a few rounds, use it if you can.
This is one of the things you’ve been saving those otherwise insignifigant rejuv boosters for. I know I did. Tried about 25 times without, won on second try with.
You can set up a Box O Fun (as change appearance only) within usable reach right before facing him and then use the box after the fight starts (in your .4sec window of using a skill). He will drink himself to death while you just regen.
Cheating yes, but this POS cheats too, so….
I wouldn’t normally condone such exploits, but considering you need to beat him to get the LS achievement and beating Adnul requires nothing more than RNG (or a regen booster if you happen to have one and don’t get screwed with RNG), I feel it’s a fair use.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Why on earth would you set it up for transform appearances when you can set it to petrify mode and take no damage at all, once the petrify takes over your body.
I did not use this method to get the achievement, I fought him the hard way which is the normal ten hours of your life flush down a mystic toilet way. But in fairness he is not right, he doesn’t seem to have a strategy that can be applied like all the others with a certain consistency. As soon as you are ahead he will spam the special and then it all goes downhill from there.
I know some of you got a lot of these box o’ fun’s from doing achievements. I guess well now its time your achievements are gonna help you get an achievement. I bet a few people are gonna be like holy crap, I wasted them things so they would not take up space in my bank.
Best use is that the specials are not account bound and if you want all six you will need to get them before its all over.
Thanks for posting the Adnul strategy, I hadn’t tried him before but I was dreading it. Beat him in 3 tries using that approach though. =)
This forum is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. ~DevilLordLaser
aye, i followed the advice posted by Donari and got it.
i used rejuvenation booster on my warrior though.
took a few tries.

The guys is simply a cheat, and not fun at all. Skipping this.
The box of fun rlly works , get petrified. Go afk for 5-10 minutes and you will finaly have the achy.
Tried the grandmaster and got him down after 3 tries. One shotted the other bosses and spend like 7 tries on the woohoo girl. Adnul refused to die after 4 hours, so I boxed of funned his *ss
He is impossible and that guide is pointless. It requires you to have belch available all the time. But it takes many turns to recharge it because you can’t drink. Not mentioning it’s bugged. I’m out. Thanks to this “fun” minigame i lost the desire to play this altogether.
U can use “Rejuvenation Booster”

Well the person who told me said to use appearance. Petrify sounds like it would work much better. The core principle stays the same. This 100% works and will get you through this really, really, really bad encounter.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Alright guys, I just finished. And after 2 1/2 hours, this is what I’ve learned and what worked for me.
- Always keep your health up as high as possible.
- Always use Bluff. Using Bluff, even when he has his boon up, will sometimes inflict less damage than when drinking the Juice.
- After he uses Belch, Belch back (in the hopes that you get lucky and stop his Heal). After, Drink Water.
- Select the Boast skill before the fight, and only use it when you get around 2,000 hp.
- Using Belch when you have less than 20% hp does more damage, so keep that in mind when using Boast or Drinking Water at low health.
Hoped this helped.
No he isn’t fun at all. And his name in Andul not Adnul. I tried many of the strategies here with no luck. Finally I just did my own thing and beat him. I cannot remember what I did, I was just so happy to beat him.

This sounds a lot like what I did. I was able to beat him in about 30 minutes just doing this, and it was very very close. Keep an eye on his drink cooldown and hope you stop him from healing 1-2 times during the encounter.
My god that was painful, finally got it but really this more about luck then skill, this isn’t challenging content this is punishing content. It is one thing to be able to get better and overcome something its another to almost never be able to beat something that can not be beat by skill and give up for most of the time due to frustration.
I hate Adnul… wasted my whole day
I’m so glad people posted info about the Box O’ Fun before I tried him.
Is it bad that I’ve created a character using his name, and plan to observe my brew’s fine undertones in Lion’s Arch’s map chat?
Would it be possible to have him in LA for a little while to replace the unused projector
In a set of medieval stocks so we can throw tomatoes or rocks at him
It’s almost like he reads button inputs. I’ve tried this about ten times now to test this, just starting off with water and he belches every time.
Might just be my unluckiness, but in all seriousness this guy is nothing more then a RNG based cheat. He’s not fun, he’s not entertaining, he’s not a challenge, he’s just a randomized, asuran-sounding smug annoyance. The only type of minigames that are allowed to involve any sort of luck factor is gambling and nothing more then that.
What’s sad is that he takes more time and effort to complete then any other boss or similar challenge in the game.

Once I got the skill to heal yourself for a large amount (the one you get from the charr master) it was a very exciting, very close victory. I just tried my best to time it so that my belch and water were ready to go when Adnul used his special, and when he got me down to about 50% health, I used my special to get all my health back. In the end I beat him with about 500 HP remaining, on my third or fourth try.
Might just be my unluckiness, but in all seriousness this guy is nothing more then a RNG based cheat.
Lol oh please spare me the “boss is B.S. because he can do things players can’t!” Of course he can, that’s why he’s the hardest challenger. Is it fair? Hell no, but a lot of the time, overcoming a difficult challenge means that you’re up against odds that aren’t fair. And thank Balthazar for that.
