[Web Tool] Cheapest Materials for Zephyr Box
Was wondering how long something like this would take to get posted. Thanks!
thanks for this, but i think i need some help:
I assume the cheapest mats are at the top, if so, really the tool has already done its job, but can you explain this line:
2000 → Mithril Ore (50x)
what does the 2000 represent and what does the (50x) represent?
Thanks!
the numbers in brackets I.E (50x) are the number of that item you need to exchange for a Zephyr Box. The first number then would be the total cost of that purchase.
So right now you see…
2200 -> Mithril Ore (50x)
You need to purchase 50 Mithril Ore for 1 Zephyr Box and that is going to cost you 2200 copper. So right now the cheapest you can get Mithril Ore for is 44copper each

It went down earlier today, but fixed now Feel free to let me know if you have any issues or suggestions, although I think there’s not much to add really. Maybe if there was more research into WvW loot bags to know exactly what the drop rate is for fortunes…
I still find it quite interesting that mithril is now often the cheapest way to get it – I guess that indicates that the thick leather/silk prices are about where ANet wants them now.
Great tool <3
Very nice work, Uttar.
I didn’t realize that you could trade resources for these Zephyr Boxes. Does anyone have information on what they drop / where the traders are? I’m assuming they’re somewhere on the new map.
They’re the traders you talk to for the achievement, who are just before the sun adept. As you face the first waterfall, they’re on your right.
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base.”
Pre-launch, Colin listed things that make MMOs bad. They are all now in GW2.
I was looking for a thread about maybe why the materials/tiers are inconsistent?
Is it just because the devs realize that the market for certain things are saturated and they’re trying to artificially regulate the prices? Also did not realize that the only thing in these are recipes and quartz, that’s hardly going to regulate kitten.

Not really regulate. Just drain off excess supply. Similar to the boxes near launch that created the mystic forge conduits.
It seems they still haven’t figured out how to add a permanent sink for these items yet.

Not sure if they really need a permanent sink. That will just make these kind of things expensive all the time. Or the sink will just become obsolete all the time. Temporary sinks work just fine really.

They really need to do 1 of 2 things then. Make the other middle tier mats easier to get, OR reduce the mats required for crafting those tiers so that(for example) crafting T2 items aren’t more expensive than T4.
