They’re singing song about woman who gave her life to protect them and they’re using some old asian melody
Did anyone try to get the fragments of the songs together?
And does anyone know what’s the original melody? I know i heard it before but can’t remember where

I agree there is something really familiar in the tune. But I also can’t place it, but I swear its a tune I’ve heard quite frequently in my life which would make sense for the melody you think it is similar to. I wish I could tell you what it is, but it is racking my brain as it is.

Hopefully they share it on soundcloud or something maybe. It is quite lovely and would love to be able to listen to it outside of game. (Hey ANet if you released a digital soundtrack of all your new songs on the soundtrack I’d buy it. :P Though I definitely appreciate what you offer on soundcloud on occassion. It is very generous.)

Well I know the tune I’ve heard a few of them singing matches the background music for the area…

It reminds me on the Misty Mountain song from The Hobbit.

From the snippets of it that I’ve heard on the Zephyr Sanctum proper, I believe the song refers to Glint. It talked about a hero who died and mentions a desert; and then there is the woman near the front of the ship teaching a group of children about Glint, the Elder dragons and Eir.

The song plays once an hour. On my server it starts ~5 minutes before the new hour. There are two parts that play independently and repeat every 10 minutes by “Summer” and a group of four Zephyrites. There are a few problems with the audio:
1. One NPC’s vocals do not match the text bubble above her head.
2. One NPC’s audio cuts out and does not play in full.
3. I’m not 100% sure where Summer and the group of 4 go in the song. Because the rest of the NPCs sing only once an hour and in order, these independent parts should probably be the beginning/the end. After thinking this over quite a bit it seems the group of 4 could be the end continuing on for the NPC whose audio gets chopped off. Summer is also the only named NPC who sings this tune, so he seems like a good candidate to be the person to start it.

I’ve only heard one part of the song and it sounded pretty nice. Looking forward to a whole compilation of them sometime, but am not going out of my way to find it myself in-game.

That’s just what I was looking for! I heared them singing before but don’t have video recording software. As for the group of 4, it feels like the end of the song. Kinda like how the woman tries to go all high on the last notes of And cry, “Alas, alas, alas…”
