the achi reward system.
I believe it’s going to end up being something similar to WvW ranks where each “rank” will give you set (or random) rewards, and also potentially give you currency to purchase more things (probably not, but there is a chance).
a mix of systems seems entirely possible. however i think i would prefer a static ladder of rewards. one that shows me what i will get when my score gets high enough. one that allows me to focus on the achievements rather than what kind of rewards ill be getting and how. i’m an achievement hunter. even without the rewards i would still be trying to maximize completion. therefor an overly complicated reward system would only hinder my play style.
sorry bro, but all they care is about keeping you playing the game and buys stuff.
Achievements don’t matter.
It is going to be similar, if not the same, to the Hall of Monuments reward system for Guild Wars 1 in Guild Wars 2. Basically when you earn achievements and do stuff in game, the points will go up. As said earlier, there will be tiers. So at 1,000 points you’ll unlock an item, at 2,000 another item, etc. That is my guess at least.

This is correct.
Rewards are handed out based on milestones that happen every 500 achievement points. So 500 point milestone is a small reward, 1000 point milestone a large reward, 1500 point milestone is small again, 2000 is large etc.
In the 1000point milestones (so 1000, 2000, 3000 etc) you also get the choice of a skin. Each milestone has a specific list of available skins and you get to pick one. Each milestone also comes with gold, some laurals, a permanent acount bonus (like +1% xp or something) and a chest. Small or Large depending on the milestone. The chest contains all sorts of BLT goodies like boosters, and forge stones, its quite richly filled.
I just hope it will have a loooong ladder of unlockable rewards so that those now at 10K+ achievement points login after patch day and voila, everything unlocked… ofc, I doubt Anet are that gullible or naive, just saying it out loud so that the ladder is so ludicrously high it’ll be like the HoM grind in GW1 and ensure “longevity” of the game.

Do you have a source for this information, it’s much more detailed than anything I’ve seen since they announced the feature?

I think that is what we are all hoping it will be.
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
I htink they should grant rewards for achievements, not for dailies.
wait, each 1000 mark has a unique set of skins that you can only pick one of? that would mean that i would miss out on the other skins that i didn’t pick for my entire account. that kinda sux.
kny, no one knows how it’s going to work until the devs tell us. So far it’s all speculation, daydreaming, and occasional fear mongering. Hold on ‘til Tuesday, then we’ll know for sure.

Brunobyof speaks the truth. Everytime I want to stop with the boring as F@#% dailies they keep adding rewards I feel I must have. First it was the karma (for strong armor), the laurels (for celestial trinkets) and now prestige armors. 6 months down the road the will be adding something to keep the grind alive. Welcome to Grind Wars 2.
I really hope it will be something like HoM where you can get unlimited amounts of skins once you unlock it…
i think it would be ideal if the new achievement system mimicked the hall of monuments as much as possible! lets hope arena net feels the same way.

Don’t know if you have links or this is just your personal best scenario- but in any case +1
Good job
Based on a Guild Wars Guru preview these rewards will be RNG based giving you a chest every 500 points… So yea…
