Would it hurt the economy so bad? I don’t think so. It would definitly encourage buying more stuff for gems if would actually taste how it feels to have something from the gem store that actually isn’t a useless booster everyone saves up and never uses.

You already get 10 laurels and mystic coins, if they add keys in, what goes lower on the loot chart instead?

Should anything? Black Lion chests are so random and barely even useful that you get an average 5-8 black lion ticket scraps from opening ~20-25 chests. Surely 12 keys / YEAR wouldn’t hurt any balance.

in the past year, I’ve got the majority of keys I’ve used in that time from daily chests. a close second is map completion (I don’t do map completion on my alts very often)

They should give everyone, one time per year, 5 free ticket scraps.

That way people will be enticed to gamble on keys to get the last remaining 5.

I’d have preferred one full Black Lion Ticket for the annual birthday present, seeing as how you’d still need an average of 4 more for a yesteryear weapon, but I suppose I could live with 5 Scraps.

They should remove Black lion chests from the game. They provide a method in which children can use real money to gamble. Its no different from a drug dealer going into a school and selling drugs to children. It is unethical for such a large company as Anet to provide such options when they are completely aware a vast portion of their consumers are children.

They have to give them to you rarely enough that you don’t feel like it is enough. From the sound of it, if they implemented the change you are asking for, you would get keys often enough that you would never be tempted in the slightest to buy one off the gem store. If that is the case for a large number of players, then they will never do that. They do not want people to be sated because they want people to buy them off of the gem store for real money. They give you a couple in the personal story just to give you a “taste” as drug dealers call it.

At the moment, I’ve kept track of what bonus items I’ve gotten from the last 140 daily bonus chests. No BLKeys (Merchant Express has been the most common, btw). I know they used to show up, but I haven’t seen one in a loooooong time. If they’re still possible, as you imply, they’re too rare to be counted as any sort of useful source. Same goes for getting any in the field. They do drop as I’ve gotten 2 in the last 8 months. I think that’s about 10 billion to one odds per kill….

Not to mention it’s the fault of the parent who gives a child a credit card who uses it irresponsibly.

Are you sure about that? I’ve only ever gotten:
1 little bottle of Karma
1 Mystic Coin
1 luck essence

I do the daily almost daily.

They should sell a permanent skeleton key that can be used an infinite amount of times for 5 million gems

1 little bottle of Karma
1 Mystic Coin
1 luck essence

I do the daily almost daily.

Do not recall ever getting keys from the daily, but gem store items do drop from the daily – maybe a 5-10% chance.

I get a lot of BL kits, for example.

now that you mention it… it does seem like it’s been a while since the last one. They may of nerfed it. several months ago I remember it was about 2/month.

I think it would actually hurt the gemstore once you find out what you get from opening a bl chest.
