So i saw recent post on the main page it made me cringe to say the list. I am sure its not a lie somewhere in the last month gems might have been worth that much for a few hours but its dam close to false advirtrisment , as it stand when i checked a few moments after the post it was 8 gem for one gold and mostly at the 8-9 gems for a gold lately and keep going down in value.

I know they do what they must to get money but isn’t it to close to normal political way of lying without laying?

The exchange rate is constantly in flux. Any number that gets put down in writing will be wrong by the time you read it simply because it has changed.

It wasn’t a lie when it was written, it just isn’t particularly helpful because it is instantly obsolete.

are you sure you are thinking right? It is 12 gem for a gold, right now about 11 gem for a gold.

And if you are getting a gold from 8 gem. You are getting more gold for every gem you bought with real money…. if it is 8 gold for a gem, it is even better for people who pay real cash, since spending 10$ will get them 100gold, instead of only 66 gold.

no i didn’t. that is intended for the OP. I think he got confused between buying and selling gems, since the exchange rate is different. It dont’ seemed like anet made a false advertisement. The price is even better who spend real cash. since it is 11 gem to 1 gold now. So 10$=800 gem=72 gold. before it is 12 gem to a gold, so 10$=800 gem= 66.66 gold.

Was it a long list? Some lists are so long to say that they make me cringe as well…

the current price is 13.2g → 100 gem and 100 gem → 9.6g
or: 1g → 7.6 gem and 10.4 gem → 1g

15 gems → 1 gold = 100 gems → 6.6g

on may 13, spidy says 100 gems → 7.2g or 13.8 gems → 1 gold
so, they did approximate a bit, but not so far off. and they advertised as a worse deal for you than what it really was. how much would you rather pay for 1 gold? 15 gems or 13.8 gems?
the most recent time it was 15 gem → 1 gold was april 25. only 2.5 weeks before their advertisement. personally, I wouldn’t say they lied. sure, not 100% true, but what little it wasn’t true was not true in your favor. It would be like AT&T claiming 90% cell coverage, except by the time the ads aired it was actually 92%.

I’m pretty sure the OP just get confused on gem→gold and gold→gem since the exchange is different.

It seems he is refering to the post today, since he says 12 gem to 1 gold.

ic ic. didn’t notice that ad. yeah, 12 =/= 10.4. but 12 is a worse deal than 10.4 (at 12 gems → 1 gold, then it would take 15.2 gold → 100 gems; we’ll get there within a few weeks)

I remember back during Halloween 2012 it was 80 silver for 100 gems and I was like “Who would pay such outrageous prices?”

Yeah… I wish I would’ve.

 But then again, that was before the farmageddon that are the champion lootbags, an everyone was poor back then.

i really hope the day comes when 100 gems gives at least 100 gold, i am not gonna waste my hard earned money on a pathetic 100 gold for €10,-
