A Gem Store Suggestion (Characters)
There’s a 480+ post thread about new Gem Shop ideas, done so there wouldn’t be hundreds of separate threads with suggestions with 1/2 of them being the same but you decided not to post there because…?
RIP City of Heroes
you really find it that difficult to level to 80? -_-

1) That’s arguably pay2win
2) There is already a massive thread with ideas for gemstore items
3) The wall of text was completely unnecessary.
I don’t know about others, but I generally don’t read any thread that has ten pages of posts. Even if you post an idea in there, it’s going to get buried under other ideas. It’s not like it’s stickied to be THE thread for gem store suggestions, so I don’t get the criticism for posting it separately. It’s not like we’re running out of forum space. =P
As for the idea itself, I’m less that enthusiastic about it. I don’t mind paying players progressing more quickly with boosters, buying gold, etc., but the idea of just buying a level 80 character, with all of their skills unlocked, with a full set of, say, exotic beserker armor…I think that’s going too far. Boosted players, generally, at least have to go through the learning experience, even if they do it more quickly; dropping $20 to cut to the end seems substantially less defensible.
I’m not sure I like the kind of play that would encourage, of buying a character and immediately hopping into the end game. Even if you’ve played a different character before (and aren’t totally new,) there’s still a learning curve implemented by the need to unlock weapon skills, traits, class skills, etc. You can still do this, to some extent, via crafting XP, but I don’t see much reason to make it this incredibly easy.

The devs care. There are tons of posts everyday. If people really wanted their suggestions heard, they will post where the devs post and where the devs tell them they will be reading their suggestions.
If all they want is for other people to say “hue hue hue great idea kitten ” and not have any devs actually read it, sure, make a new thread for a horrible idea.
