I was wondering if it was intentional to have so many mini captain magnus drops from the alliance supply bags? They seem to be quite easily acquired. I noticed at least 500+ on the trading post and it’s kinda weird to say the least.

Could this be the next ‘mini reef rider’ situation where an exotic mini goes for easily under 1g? As far as I know they’re not mystic forge-able either.

So, ANet wanted to give people minis. The issue is that anything that isn’t exotic is forgable- which destroys the value of other minis.

Their solution was to make exotic minis that are effectively exotic in name only.

This avoids the Holographic Risen Knight problem.

I wish they’d also do this for the Black Lion Chest minis, but I suppose they’re happy to destroy the mini market provided they get a cut.

Funny thing is, I didn’t get a Mini Magnus until AFTER Escape was over. I’ve gotten one of each of the unlimited Quaggan tonics, but no Mini Magnus until only a few days ago. RNG is RNG…

Magnus was going for 34s so I bought a couple to be on the save side. But I didnt do any real jump as I do not really understand the mini market. Perhaps some of the TP pro’s can give us some insight ^^ …pls?

Magnus is worthless because he drops like candy. I think I had like 5 of them and I do not actively farm for the alliance bags, only taking the ones I get while playing normally.

If he would be forgeable he would create the biggest crash to the mini market ever.

I got 3 of them during the Escape event, and yes they are like pure junk sitting in my collection slot lol

It will take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time before Mini Magnus will be profitable (if it will ever happen, which I doubt). There’s is too many of them, and none of them are ever bounded on an account. Because mini’s are never account bound after use.

Look at Mini Holographic Risen Knight, that one sells for 56s now (9 months after release).
That is the future of Mini Magnus.

Magnus is exotic in name only, and it actually negatively affects his price since you can’t forge him. Because there is massive supply, it never binds to account (like all minis), and Magnus is one of the least popular/most bland npcs I know, I doubt he will ever rise in price much (maybe in 5 years when people who stored him in their bank have left the game).

The fact that it’s forgeable would make it more valuable than Mini Magnus, because Magnus is not. Also, if you look at the price history then Mini Risen Knight has never gone above 1g. Always fluctuating between 50s-70s. Even when dragon coffers were not available anymore. My point still stands: mini Magnus will never be valuable.

As The Risen Knight is one of the cheapest Masterwork Minis, it gets thrown into the forge quite often and Dragon Coffers are still available on the trading post, which means there is still a constant supply. I used to get tens of thousands of dragon coffers on buy orders in the last 6 months, to get Jade Weapon Tickets and i got more than 500 Risen Knights (my collectible Tab was full twice, while the jade weapons, zhaitaffy and other food basically covered the gold for the coffers).

My point still stands, you cant compare Magnus with a Risen Knight, if Magnus doesnt drop anymore after the LS ends.

I propose that ANet introduces Polymock as an activity, with miniatures being used as Polymock pieces. The higher the tier, the more potent a Polymock miniature is. That should make those Mini Magnuses more valuable.

Just got another one tonite….. ugh I wish I could trade them for some other minis for my collections lol

I don’t farm this event that much nowadays, but i have over 3k of shards stacked and not a single Mini Magnues drop for me, nevertheless i did get 5-10 endless quaggan tonics whereas only one was mystery endlekittenNG i guess.

It doesn’t hurt to hold them for a couple months….especially if Magnus dies in a future patch. Heh, just like art!

I only got one after they “fixed” the knight loot drop bug. I think they gave everyone extra loot the first time they re-attempted the knights.

Or even make exotic mini’s forgeable? There needs to be some sort of way to get rid of excess miniatures I reckon.

Making them forgeable would totally crash the mini market. Maybe demote Magnus to white or blue quality.

True. Blue or Green rarity would be good. There’s just so many of them lol o_O same with the mini reef rider.

It’s going up, it shouldnt be a surprise. It doest really drop anymore as the mobs from LA are cleared, its an exotic quality mini, the supply isnt too high (yes, despite what people in this thread say, he didnt dropped in huge amounts + people are generally speaking terrible with statistics) Also, it was not very realistical that he would remain 34s highest seller IMO. I do not know whats the ceiling but I am not selling mine yet.
