Hello everyone,
I’m a little casual player, slowly earning my payday ingame by collecting my daily amount of orichalcum and ancient wood, and selling it to those who clearly can make more use of it than me.

Can someone please explain to me the fluctuations of the oricalchum and ancient wood of the past week? I know very little of marketing and economics, and the -20% of income I’m getting, compared to three weeks ago, is making me fear for my (already too few) daily gold coins.

It might be that people aren’t as keen on making their ascended weapons (either the main people have finished making theirs or people are focusing on armor instead).

I expect that once ascended crafting has been around a while some mats will go down in price, as the supply will be pretty stable and the demand will lower.

there is nothing you need orichalcum or any other t6 mat for once you have your proffesion on 500 and craft asc-items

price was somehow stable for orichalcum cause people farmed it but stored it for the armor patch – now they unload it and price is falling

price will never go up again for any t6 material – so you should care

Happy to hear you’re playing with the Trading Post, LorVan. Ori and Ancient Wood are a great way to build up money for serious investments should you choose that route. As you have noticed, Orichalcum and Ancient Wood have bounced all over the place in the last week.

Orichalcum is used in Armorsmithing, and people stocked up on it heavily and then, like most mats, dumped a ton of it onto the trading post and undercut each other severely until the price fell to what it is. Also, those people salvaging the exotics they make to level up armorsmithing further dumped even more orichalcum onto the market, crashing it even further.

Ancient Wood is used it the creation of weapons. The price fell because people, again, dumped large amounts of it and undercut each other until it’s price fell to what it is. I have absolutely no idea what what made people think they could stocked up and dumped Ancient wood onto the market for Ascended armor crafting and somehow make money. As clearly evident, they crashed the market and crushed their profits.

I wouldn’t leave out some of the lower tier mats out there LorVan. Even bronze ignots can run a few gold for a stack. Iron is quite a popular item too considering its used in a few tiers and iirc part of ascended grinding as well.

Even if the T6’s drop lower, you still have other mat avenues that can be fairly easy to get to earn some coin.

In my lack of marketing experience I’ve discovered in these days the meaning of “tanking” related to prices, and those stocking and dumping techniques. I guess something went wrong anyway, terribly wrong, even with the oricalchum. Looking at the prices in stock, there are some who seemed to have undercut 20, even 40 coppers per item. Huge gaps. As they say, “that escalated quickly”, but maybe a smaller (and smarter) undercutting would have helped.

As for the other tier mats, I guess I’ll better start to learn some alternative gathering routes in lower areas

So you know all the Jewelry recipes already? Nobody will ever craft Exotics again (once they actually accept that Ascended Armor is only good for Fractals)?

I’m not saying the prices will take a bit of time to rise and may NEVER hit the price they were 2 weeks ago, but stating they will NEVER go back up is pure BS…..

Ascended jewelcrafting will need ori. The new legendaries/crafted precursors as well (gift of metal). I wouldn’t expect a massive spike for either of those though.

no its not BS and we can talk bout in some months again when you want – the horizont for t6 metal leather wood and cloth we had already and now it will find his new value but im sure ( and i even would bet) it will never go up again and rise to his highest values

sure there will be some exotic crafters ( same like before) but this dont rise prices and even the extocis will lose value cause everoyne want asc items

we dont know (im sure we will need some ori but not alot and maby only for crafting to 500)

we dont know how jewellery will work

some points:

• they said there will be legendary jewellerys (change the look from characters)
• “normale” asc jewellery we already have ingame for months now

my speculations is:
jeweller will be all bout legendary jewellery and INFUSIONS
