Add warning screen
Unfortunately, it’s a matter of paying attention, not Anet adding in failsafes. They’re never going to add them in because the majority of people will begin to rely on them working instead of thinking for yourself.
Point is, you shouldn’t be able to make mistakes that cost huge sums of money like this without any warning/confirmation screens. It’s like deleting a character or a legendary: irreversible, with a huge impact. How would you like it if there was no confirmation screen on deleting a character?
I doubt I’d really use it, but I don’t see why I would be against it
perhaps have it an option in the settings? (e.g. [] recieve confirmation for large sales)

Because money you can go back out and earn. Characters and Legendaries, basically anything Rare quality and higher, you simply cant go back out and earn most of the time.

But you can buy legendaries. You can mostly buy level 80 through crafting. So what’s the difference? Time spent? It’s arguable close to the same when you get down to it.

It wouldn’t be a huge impact, if you took the time to see what you’re doing. The best solution to your problem is not to make that mistake again. Why suggest something that punishes 99.99% of the other players who trade on the TP?
How exactly is this punishing anyone? How many people do you know who consistently list items at over twice (or 3x, or whatever suits your fancy) the current lowest sell offer for that item? Furthermore, is it reasonable to expect everyone to give the game their full attention 100% of the time?
You’re suggesting that they add confirmation screens that aren’t necessary. This adds to the hassles of using the TP. If you want to be sure this never happens again, pay attention to what you’re doing. The same goes for deleting items or characters.
….what a bunch of ingrates, is it really such an end of the world feature to add a small warning saying “price to high” or something….shees
I bought Silver doubloons for my legendary the other day and left them in bank.
3 days later on another toon I transmogrified all my jewels or whatever they called.
I did press cancel tho. And saved one silver doubloon. Lucky me.
Ah well. At least I never salvaged a pre cursor.
I WANT UNDO BUTTON, PLS.

Yes. I want devs to not waste their time with trivial features.

^this guy is always on about “not waisting the devs time” we dont even know if the devs have the same team for designing content vs changing UI but htat doesnt stop him!
seriously tho this is a slippery slope, we dont need the features because it slows down gameplay (not because it waists dev time) because if we give in to this unneccisary request we have a bunch of others and before you know it its “are you sure you want to doge roll” and iv already been over that one

…..no…..these are literaly the exact same things…a legendary IS money and money is money that can buy a legendary…..they can both be bought back….

but they should waste their time on complains about precursors?
give me a break…..
…I see nothing against putting it in the options menu, aside from maybe wasting the devs time, but I highly doubt it would take very long at all to add
It help if we have a bank like we used to.
But the Anet programmer says it is too hard for them to implement it.
Probably the same thing happened with the new buy order system. They dont’ want to leave a bad impression for the Chinese players(on how buggy their game is). But they don’t really know how to fix it.
I’m not sure about the OP’s particular suggestion, but what I would like to see in a similar vein is an option to set a purchase threshold that causes a popup confirmation if you attempt to make a purchase transaction that exceeds that amount.
I’m usually pretty careful, but today I was peeking at some of the permanent contract items on the TP, curious to see the buy orders, and if not for the mouse cursor being a micron to the left of the “BUY” button, I would’ve bought a perma bank contract for 680g simply because I grabbed my mouse awkwardly (it’d slid slightly off the mat and was tilted and thus in the wrong location for my muscle memory), and I clicked the left mouse with my thumb. There is no confirmation for BUY orders, unless one is actually already built in for very high purchases.
This sort of accident protection already exists when you try to buy items from karma vendors—not sure if it’s global, though—that the purchasing character can’t use (in terms of armor weight or weapons).
I’m not sure how often this sort of accident happens, but I’ve almost clicked on that BUY button a number of times in the past just because it’s packed in with all the other buttons, and right next to the “place custom offer” text ‘button’ which I press a million times a day. When you do something so many times, errors like that will tend to occur, and a user-set purchase threshold wouldn’t be in the way of anyone not interested in using it (there’s a lot of options in the options list I never use; doesn’t bother me that they’re there).
Personally i have the feeling that they don’t really have any dedicated web-programmers at ANet if i look how archaic the whole TP interface still is, and also if i just look at the forums where they can’t even manage to fix the search function after all that time.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
this scenario was why I liked having gold in the bank vs. on my characters.
turns out when you have access to all your gold, you tend to make this mistake less often.
sorry it happened to you.

Just create a bank guild, use the guild bank as your personal savings account.

Just remember that it can’t hold soul or account bound items and it doesn’t move servers if you do.

Nor will that gold EVER be rolled back when a hack occurs.
