That dragon thing running down the male charr tail is a very nice touch. Too bad female charr got the short stick. I like it enough on male charr to be a maybe get. It does look pretty nice overall.

I’m so glad the dragon bits could be dyed and are not forced to remain gold. That was the deal-breaker for me if they could not also be dyed.
I almost didn’t get it because it’s an outfit and I want to be able to mix and match with other armors, but since it can be toggled, fully unlocked for all characters on the account and does not take charges at all, I guess I can pick it up.

I’m actually rather happy about this. I know some people are upset because the female charr aren’t wearing something more masculine, but I’m content with them having some more “feminine,” variety to them.
tbh it is one of the better outfits in the game, hell they even put effort with the charr and asura models, very little clipping and detail loss there. However the female version top…..a bit too risque and low cut for my taste, on some bodytypes it literally looks like that portion needs to be glued to her areolas to stay on :p

A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

My thoughts too…not only that, but they also get a boob window for female charr…what the actual kitten A-net? That’s just weird and out of place. I also see female asura get that. Creepy…definitely not buying this one. + no dragon on the tail..

You seem to be completely missing the point and I don’t have the willpower to argue, have it your way.
I like this outfit a lot. I will certainly buy it. That said, it’s a shame it was introduced with the limitations of an outfit, rather than an armor set (i.e. you can’t mix’n match).
And yet we got boob cleavage, but nothing for tail. And we looking at tail 99% of time.
I think that is a completely valid complaint. Tail dragon is win and females should have it too.
I just think the “it’s too feminine” chime made me seethe because… I just… I’ve been asking for more feminine models FOREVER.
I guess it’s important to understand that equating ‘feminine’ with sexist fantasy armour tropes like boob windows and random strips of missing fabric is worrisome. With charr and asura it’s also ridiculously inconsistent – do they have humanoid gender tropes or don’t they? The reason they don’t get more effeminate armour is already because they are relegated to default male armour, which is by and large more sensible, fully-covering and in many cases less diverse/detailed. And for the times that they get gender-specific aka female-sexualised armour, it shouldn’t just be a lazy mod of the humanoid version. Asura really go for big heads and ears, for example, and when charr get decorative it tends to be with their horns – socially it doesn’t make sense for them to have a boob window because that’s not something they emphasise when it comes to sexual attraction.
Honestly just wish Anet would switch to releasing armour accessible to both genders already instead of imposing arbitrary gender standards on any race. For an MMO that wants to be seen as progressive in a number of areas and has a lot of team members that are very vocal about gender equivalence, it really doesn’t push this boat hard enough at all. Sexualised armour is absolutely fine and good as a choice but it’s tiresome to see it forced on female characters time and again while the males get no equivalent, and it’s just plain embarrassingly awkward to see that sexualisation transferred to the non-humanoid races.
I like the dragon a la “fox stola” for the female charr version.
Otherwise there is this conundrum, first asura and charr do not have female armour versions. The physiology is different from other humanoid creatures and Anet decides (maybe?) to try something new.
We seem to have taken the next step, there are female versions now, but they don’t really take the races into account – or do so only half way (tail accessory for male version).
Let’s hope they will go all the way in the future, so you could truly believe that an asuran tailor or charr tailor made them fit their own people.

You are right – wintersday outfit. Didn’t think of that one, probably because I wasn’t very interested in it during the time of town clothes.
Both examples (feathered/gladiator), don’t get me wrong, while revealing sking, don’t show cleavage.
You might have misunderstood my point. I don’t see it as overly negative, but it’s not positive either, simply put I don’t believe a charr would create an item like that. I would simply like to see more difference. Like the tail dragon does so well.
Of course you can’t see it as a true “cleavage” because there are no breasts to see through the hole. But if there is nothing to see you would not put a hole there in the first place. So what would male charr find “sexy”? Maybe we can (or Anet) think of something that is not too alien/obscene to us as humans, but still a little unique to the game world. Maybe reveal more leg? If we have to offer “sexy” at all that is of course.
Maybe for some this is a “skimpy” issue at it’s core, all I would like to see is moer racial diversity.

There is a way to acquire this ingame .. with gems. You can buy gems with gold that you got through doing achievements. If you want to show off your achievements to people who really don’t care in the first place, you don’t need expensive gear … just annoy everyone in mapchat with spamming your current achievement points.
I don’t mind the outfit for the female charr, but honestly I would have liked the option to have the male version if I so desired. My charr warrior isn’t one to enjoy the ‘dressy’ type of clothing and enjoys the uniform regal looks that her male counterparts share.
Though the weird slit cuts on the chest do nagg at me a bit just for how odd they appear.
I don’t mind some “feminine” options for the F Charr/Asura, but I feel the window is just out of place on the charr outfit. It’s not as bad on the asura, but it’s weird looking on charr. There’s this tiny random bit of cloth missing on the outfit.
More of my issue also stems from the fact that female charr dont get the dragon on their tail. When the information about the outfit was first mentioned, people were saying charr got a dragon on their tail. Of course when I go to preview it on my female charr, they dont get the option.
Do they ever fix the bugs when it comes to outfits? I don’t want to spend 700 gems only to have to deal with that hip bug…I really like the outfit but not if it ends up looking like that :/
