Hey Guys. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that buys gem with real money so they could convert them to gold? I am thinking about doing this when I have more time to play because since launch I have made a mistake of not gathering all the materials I can while exploring. Because of this I have a low level crafting in Huntsman (I am doing okay in Leatherworking) and I am a newb at making money because I did not really care about making money at the time. If I buy the gems with real money then convert them to gold then I would be able to buy the mats I need, level up my skills, and (properly) make money with them.

I haven’t but now looks like a pretty good time to do that if you are going to do it. An alternative to doing that is doing map completion for the lv1-15 maps. Doing so gives either 40 of the crafting materials or 20 cooking ingredients.

I am also thinking about doing that, since I do love exploring lol. I believe I got 1-2 more lvl1-15 maps to explore.

This is the time.. Wife got me two $15 cards from Gamestop this weekend as a gift.

With the patch, I saw it peak around 1.5 gold per 100 gems which was pretty high over the last few weeks..

Did not cash them all in, but enough to finish the exotics on one of my guys AND I played the dye roulette and won.. Picked up 20 unidentified dyes and landed abyss dye for 21.85 gold.

Walked away with 27 gold profit and some gems in the bank.

Nice, I better by some gems this weekend then xD. I should of thought about doing that at launch because I did buy gems, but I was buying a little bit at a time to get those keys when I ran out of it.

afaik there is a one-time “crafting kit” you can get for the new laurel currency that you may want to have a look at before you spend money.

If you want to make money, crafting is not a great way to do it.

I work full time and my husband and I are building a house so I don’t have much time to play but I want to keep up with our friends so I have spent an embarrassing amount of real money on gold. Sometimes I am glad that is an option and sometimes I wish it wasn’t.

If you want to make money, crafting is not a great way to do it.

What would be a better way? From playing WoW and Runescape I always thought crafting was the way to go since you could gather your materials (or try to buy them cheap) and then make something worth more.

I’m pretty desperate at the moment because I want to get my crafting high enough to make my own equipment. I tried Cursed Shore when they first released it but then I had to go back to work.

making your own equipment at low levels is not optimal, actually I wouldn’t brother much with equipment until lvl 80, I just equiped myself with drops until that lvl (and I took the lvling easy)

Okay, I could probably do that, I’m only 20 lvls away from max anyways. It is kind of hard to play as a thief though when you want to be in the middle of the combat and not use stealth lol. I been trying to make my thief be like I was in Guild Wars 1 as an assassin/warrior.

yes there is a cycle … the middle week is in fact Thursday …. it’s payday for a lot of peoples best time Thursdays to check is 6AM – 12PM and 6PM

there is a timer on the value you see .. if you really want to trade , click fast on the trade button because if you take to much time you will get a network error and when you refresh the value can be lower by 1G or 50 S .. it’s gamble really …

Not worth it, specially since I can get 22 gold in a days hard work if I really wanted to.

Thanks for the help but no I did not see it today. Is it on Gw2Spidy? I don’t have access to the game at work since I am mostly busy with fixing bugs for our game and I usually get out at around 9-10pm.

Who wants to log in to a video game and work though? There’s no way I’d ever farm gold when I can legitimately purchase it instead. I enjoy running around the world doing events and exploring and I obviously generate some income doing that but I don’t want to specifically have to farm. Too much of a waste of time when I can just grab some gems and buy whatever I have my eye on.

I enjoy running around the world doing events and exploring and I obviously generate some income doing that but I don’t want to specifically have to farm. Too much of a waste of time when I can just grab some gems and buy whatever I have my eye on.

I only farm in games if it is really worth it and if I do not have the money to buy the in-game money for it. Like Cabal Online for example. I could of spent real money to buy an astral bike (if I had a job at the time but I was in high school) or farm for the item that has a chance of getting me the bike. Eventually I got the bike, but it did took like almost a month.

If you have your own mats you can make great profit off many exotics.
