You heard it here first.

Think you got your facts upside down, ectos are gonna drop like rocks.. with 2 rares per guild mission, not to mention the increased chance of rares of champs etcetc.

Infact they are already dropping like rocks.

Perhaps not in the long run. I’m banking on the achievement system to provide an influx of laurels and players opting to gear thier alts using laurels and ectos. I’m definitley not putting all my eggs in this basket. It’s a short term bet.

Both are right, they are going to spike in price once people see the new ascended accessories, and then steadily decline when the guild mission rewards actually trickled in.

Ascended accessories cost 50 ectos a pop, which will add considerably to the value of ectos. Even if you get 2 rares a guild mission, the missions aren’t something you can just farm. They require influence to research, influence to build, time to do all of those things, and then people to execute them. This is not something you’re going to be able to farm like Cursed Shore, and the net of it all will definitely be an increase.

Ectos have already dropped around 10s in a week, and thats before people even knew that guild missions would give rares.

Also I would like to know where you got info about ascended accessory being 50 ectos, I must have missed that.

Edit: K, saw the post about new accessories now, only problem is those also cost a crapload of laurels, so it wont really impact ecto demand much I imagine.

I was considering that. It’s possible and could go either way. Regardless, this will create another sink for ectos, and those people who haven’t bought an amulet yet (like me) might cash out laurels for an ascended accessory. Note that those accessories appear to support new stat combinations like Clerics and the like which weren’t available before, which is another lure.

We’ll see how this pans out.

Who would spend 40 laurels + ectos on an accessory when you can also obtain them from a week’s worth of Guild Commendations (12) + 5g?

Sometimes I feel like everyone has the patch notes but me. Does anyone have a link?

If both are the same, then I agree. However, since the patch isn’t out yet, well… It’s tough to say. The pictures we’ve seen don’t show the same ascended items, though they might just be different parts of the same list. It’s also possible that some people who aren’t in guilds capable of that content or who don’t want to be can and will buy them with laurels and ectos. It’s the same reason why some people have bought and will continue to buy Ascended rings with laurels when they could just do Fractals.
