Im sure its been asked before but Is there anyway to break down ascended mats to lesser mats? Or any conversion I can do with them, outside of crafting to 500? I simply don’t care to craft but I would like to do something productive with all of these stacks.

Also do you guys think they will remove the account bound tag after the ascended armor is released?

No, the ascended mats can only be refined to bricks, ingots, etc.

Imo, changing them to account bound is possible but extremely unlikely. They made ascended gear so the people who who like progression in stats will have a long grind. It’s a form of endgame for a certain type of player and it keeps these people busy and logging on each day. They are undoubtably assuming people will be gearing up multiple characters or multiple sets of stats on one character. To make these account bound will make the grind shorter, which is not what they want.

they confirmed in a blog post you will need all ascended materials + other stuff you can get in the world( maby things like world complete) to craft precursor

so my guess is:
1-5 vision crystals
2 things you always need when craft a weapon like Rifle Barrel or Torch Head
2x 3-15 per asc material like Spiritwood Plank,Elonaian Leather Square, Deldrimor Steel Ingot or Bolt of Damask
1 whatever you have to collect in the world
