Bid up Runes and Sigils and make me rich!
Got about 40 sets of 50-250 runes each. Whatever happens, I’ll be well ready.
money has already been mostly made on sigils form the announcement, speculators now have that market closed down, as for runes im not too sure.

I have a ton of cheap superior sigil runes juuuust incase they can be used in the newly upgraded forge.
Very low risk since I bought them 1 c above vendor price.

This is great general advice. For those with some bank room and a little gold, there is barely any downside to investing in things that are 1c over the vendor price.
Before the patch, look at things like minor runes/sigils, gemstone mats, and so forth. There are some very low-risk gambles that can be made in the next week.

I did that a year ago. held onto like 30 stacks for around 4 months, then got fed up and vendor’ed them. 30 × 250 × 1c = 75s lost on 162g speculated. I find that once you bet on an item and it fails, you don’t want to bet on it again :P I wish you luck.

It doesnt always work out that well. Last year i bought like10k recipes for the exotic givers inscriptions/insignias at vendor price, which was 1.33s, i think.
With Wintersday the 2nd time around, Anet simply removed the vendor value from the recipes (without mentioning it in the patch notes).
Prices crashed to single digit copper range and i lost more gold than i thought would be possible.
Personally i didnt invest much into runes/sigils. I still got a couple of stacks of rune of antitoxin, that i salvaged of the rare aquabreathers that dropped from the rescue bag. Due to oversupply its still available at nearly 50% crafting value, so i hope it might get more popular with the patch.
I also invested into the sigils of conjuration and sanctuary. Both are the same and give 5s of invulnerability at 26 kills. As each killed player in wvw will give 5 charges after the patch, those might become popular for zerg fights, if they dont get changed. At least 1 of them will, i guess. Anyways, both are available way under crafting value (i dont speculate in runes/sigils that are attached to exotic gear that drops from the mf, sigil of rage, for example).

Smart, never thought of that. Too late for me to buy in now ;[
Then again, even if they don’t change it for the feature patch, I think that sounds too OP that they would nerf it eventually.

You’re right, it doesn’t always work out. BUT, I’ve found that with runes, sigils, mats, and so forth, if you diversify a little, you can generally make enough on one or two stack of a particular item to cancel out the multiple 2s50c losses on the others; and then teh rest is pure profit.
