Guild Wars 2

I understand I could buy a copy of the deluxe edition at regular price. However, since I already have the standard digital edition, is there a way to get the deluxe benefits for free, or must I buy a whole extra copy?

There is no way you are going to get it for free.

Everything has a higher starting price when it is new and it usually goes down over time. Most mmo’s that release extra expansions that you pay seperatly for usually bundle them together with the original game and charge the same price as the original game by itself after being out for a little bit. This is just how it works.

You do not however need to buy a new copy of the game for $60 just to get the upgrade. If you really wish to have the upgrade you can buy it for 2000 gems in the Gem Store. You can buy the $25 in gems or trade your in game gold for gems.
