What kind of sales would you like to see?

I’d like to see a sale on bank tabs, I still need to buy one more, and perhaps a sale on the price of unlocking extra bag slots for characters. These are like quality of life essentials for me.

While I would love to see sales on bank or inventory tabs (would finally upgrade my characters), they’ll probably be on consumables and things that nobody really uses unless they get them from story rewards or chests.

I think so too.

The only item I will be spending money on are level 80 transmute stones. I never seem to get those as rewards and have 2 80s and a couple of others approaching.

But knowing ANet the sale will be on Keys, Buffs, and social clothing.

Well, obviously, almost everyone will want bank slots. And, to a lesser extent, inventory slots.

But other than that, the gem store doesn’t offer alot of things.

Likely, it’ll be sales on the junk no one buys, just like a normal store does on Black Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Obviously bank slots and inventory slots are what most people hope for. I’d also like character slot discounts. Of course I don’t have 5 lvl 80 characters, it’s just that I’d like the option to have a character from each class.

However I too believe the discount will be for useless vanity items and boosts. The only non-upgrade items that I would buy if they were discounted are the mystic stones and the black lion salvage kits. Right now gems cost a lot of gold so the salvage ktis aren’t worth it but with a 70% discount I would buy one or two.

I’m hoping for character slots (I’ll buy 3) as they net you the most bankspace for the least money, and also give me the opportunity to pick up the 3 classes I haven’t tried yet without nuking one of my ALTs.

I would MAYBE buy minis or keys. Maybe. By the by, it’s unlikely that bank tabs or bag tabs would be on sale, as they aren’t “technically” on the gem store.

They might put the digital deluxe upgrade on sale. They would likely make A LOT of money doing that.

Gems are also 40% more expensive than 4 days ago and 70% more expensive than 10 days ago. Buying in now for the “discounts” will be just as expensive as full price then if buying with gold.

I wouldn’t mind discounts on the armor skins and character, bank, and inventory slots.

Gems are always the same price when buying them. When converting gold to gems, thats another story.

I don’t think bag/bank/character expansions get the 70% off mainly because people buys that no matter what the price is. It will most likely be dyes, minis, skins, keys, kits, boosters and so on.

I’m kind of hoping for kits, although it could mess up the economy.

They’re on now. Nothing of interest to me.

Keys at 50% off ONLY if you buy 25 at once. (RNG chests no thanks)
Fine T stones at 40% off. (Plenty of these from mapcompletion/chests)
Portable one time merchant 60% off. (Beyond useless if you have bagspace or aren’t in a dungeon.)

Was hoping it would be something useful like mystic forge stones or salvage kits.

It has started and it is worse than expected. The current discount is 40% and 60% for two useless items and only 50% for Black Lion Keys and only if you buy 25 of them.

I feel like a fool now for buying all those gems, especially since prices will probably drop after the weekend. I know something like this was to be expected but what can I say? I bought the carrot.

Now I hope tomorrow or on Sunday there will be at least one useful item on sale. I would buy character slot or bank slot even at a 30% discount but I doubt I would buy any of the other very few interesting items on offer for less than the maximum 70% discount.

I too was expecting sale prices based off the items already in the gem store (if you have a look at the BL keys – they made a bulk 25 key tier with 50% off and haven’t applied it to the single key and 5 pack key set at all)

This is a huge carrot dangle if I ever saw one.

I bought gems but now I’m just going to use it on extra bank account access…

BL Key are the biggest scam I ever seen in GW2

When I buy 25 keys in packs for 5 keys, i will pay 5*450=2250 gems
But when I would buy just 25 keys in promotion I have to pay 1560 gems

It’s still cheaper but IT’S NOT 50% SALE!

So either ANet can’t count or either they think we can’t count

IMO the 25 batch of BL keys is such a lame attempt to sell useless stuff it’s actually sad. Why would anyone want to open more BL chests since aside from the RNG they have just normal drops now?

Whats more…for last event i have bought 1050 gems for a 10gold…now for same 10g i will get 677gems ^^ nice.

Promo should be on specific items, not specific amount of items…25 keys in promo ok but why 1 or 5 keys aren’t in promotion then? Same as Transmutation stones?

Yup, today’s “consumables” deals don’t appeal to me.

It’s likely they would put some “style” costumes next.

I doubt they would put character slots or bank slots because they know there is a demand for this, whereas the other fluff is entirely optional. So in their point of view, they would want to keep these sold at non-discounted price to get more money. It can be argued that if they discount them now, they would get lots of money coming in but that would only be if they desperately needed it.

In GW1, they did have character slots on sale one time but that was a very, very, very long time after release when the active player base was reducing and when GW2 was around the corner. The time when demand was very little.

I don’t even know -how- they’d put bank slots on sale since you don’t purchase those through the TP.

/agreed that character slots are the only things it’d be worth buying gems to purchase at a discount, but keep in mind: the price of gems in gold has gone up about 40%. That means that anything discounted less than 40% is not actually a deal if unless you’re using gems purchased before this event (or bought with real money).

In other words, if a character slot cost only 600 gems (25% off!), 600 gems now costs about 9 gold. Before this sale, 800 gems (normal price) cost about… 9 gold.

I would love the see recustomize kits, even if they aren’t in sale.

ANet, want to stimulate some instant revenue from the gem store??? Instead of a virtual sale on virtual items for virtual currency…. how about a sale price on the gems themselves?

as for the black lion sales this whole mentality of bulk buys which cost over 20 dollars of
actual money needs to stop its just blantent

i do not care for the BLC keys anymore, yet i feel i have to add somethin positive…

i got on the BLC train when halloween was announced… was disapointed of course when 50 keys gave me no halloween skin… yet i recieved like 40 lvl 80 transmutation stones… since the blc drop 5 at once pretty regularly .. in addition to all the other booster stuff. i also got like 30 insta repairs and 20 blc salavage kits which tunred out to have quite some value to me.

So if your argument is to save up for the transmutation stones, the keys might actually be a good deal.
