Is it, hypothetically, a wise investment to stock up on skins while they are worth 1 ticket and then sell them when they are worth 5 tickets?

Yes, although you should wait for the initial dump of people who panic when the price drops.

Yes and no.

Too many people have bandwagoned onto this idea, and now it takes months and months for any ROI. As an example, Hallowe’en 2013 skins are still sitting at the event price 6 months on.

I only buy them immediately after release, when people whom have no idea of the average ticket price sell them instantly for my 20g offers.

Look at the current volume available for each torment skin, then figure on there being at least 10x that volume in ‘hidden’ reserve. As Flissy said, it will take many months for that supply to be depleted.

The question is, do you really want to wait that long for a decent ROI??

Too many investors in this market. So I would say it’s not worth it. Like other people have pointed out, they rarely go up in price. Or it takes at least 6 months to see any sort of increase.

As the others have said, lots of players are now wise to this investment strategy, meaning that there’s so much supply that you could be waiting in excess of 6 months to a year (maybe more) to see any decent return.
