Black Lion Tools working as intended?
I have to say neither do I.
The salvage kit? I use that when I want the rune.
Or the gathering tools? They are supposedly the same as the steel type (according to wiki).

The salvaging one I can see being useful but gathering ones suck. I used a 25 use mining pick while gathering orichalcum. On my normal run I get anywhere between 2-5 orbs, when I use that blmp that is suppose to be really good get 0. I normally get 6-10 nodes, depending on the reset locations so the mining pick lasts 3-4 runs and none of them ever get any orbs whereas the regular orichalcum pick gets 2-5 during the same span. Now I just destroy them to save space.
The black lion tools are working as intended and are significantly better than regular tools.
Hmm, I though it gave me ruined ore when I tried on Orichalcum…..am I mistaken?
I just used the the black lion Axe and it gave me ruined wood. Can you confirm the the black lion tools should be able to harvest ANYTHING. As the regular orichalcum tools work but black lion tools do not on the fail tier of harvesting
I had the same experience. I saved some from low levels and was very disappointed to see they couldn’t even harvest gold…
Black Lion tools will only harvest reliably the nodes that you would ORDINARILY be able to equip the “normal” tool for. e.g. if you are level 7 and equip a black lion tool, it will act as if it were a copper tool (because you need to be level 10 to use the iron tools, or whatever level it is).
So the level you obtained them at determines their quality? They don’t level up with you?

I think they only work on under level 400 gathers, like mithril and under, cypress and under, etc. but no orrian sapling or orichalcum.
Also been getting “ruined” on level 400 nodes.
Don’t be in battle when gathering. Black Lion Tools do indeed work on 400 nodes. I use them all the time.

What’s with the master harvesting tools you get for personal story quests? I don’t think they work as intended.
The master pick e.g. works up to mithril, but the master sickle stops working in mid 40 zones and the axe I believe in 50+ zones.
I choose master sickles for my lvl 42 (or 45) personal story a few days ago, but all I get are ruined plant fibres.

Looks like others are having issues with the “Master” tools also. I just destroy them cause I don’t understand how they work.
