First off, if you’re going to put more chests inside these chests, that is dumb. The majority of people playing this have little currency to begin with, then when we finally have enough to buy 5 keys with gems from the TP, to begin getting rid of our 50+ chests to make room in our limited banks, we get 2 more chests, if we are lucky another key, useless transformation tonics that are account bound (i have 15 different tonics)… people dont hang out in town chatting, showing off ‘hey imma minotaur’ or whatever tonic they got, they are out doing stuff.

thats just an example of something that happens, and did to me. i need to make room in my bank but all of these things that are account bound are really dumb, useless things of no value. is there a point to it? some way to make at least some of our gems back would be nice, considering. it doesnt make the game fun, it makes me think sigh, spend another handful of gems on something im hoping to get anything of value from, just to get garbage. again. it doesnt make me want to spend hard currency to get more gems, it makes things frustrating.

most of us, when we begin, are lucky to get 1 or 2 keys near the lower levels from just random drops. maybe 5 or so up to lvl 80. but by then we have accumulated 50+ chests. i personally dont want these chests, they are of no use to me, i dont have the gems to play a betting game on them. if i spend gems/gold on something i want a tangible item, something that will be of use to me, or something i can see. im just going to throw out all that account bound trash i dont want and sell my chests….which really sucks considering ea chest is only worth a few copper.

give us an easier way to accumulate gems/currency and i wont care. until then, grinding lvl 80 events in cursed shore, when the entire area isnt BUGGED TO HELL AND FULL OF BOTS, for drops to sell on the trading post is the only way, and its already old. at the rate i am able to make gold i wont see my first (20g) pc of racial armor until christmas. and this is september.

If you don’t like the chests, don’t use the chests. It’s a psychology game, and from your attitude it appears that Anet has nearly beaten you with it. It’s like the lottery – the only way to win is not to play, and the only consistent winner is the house.

Save them up until you have a stack of 250 in your bank or until they announce a new special item in them. Then put it up on the trading post. Consider each one a copper, instead of a random chance to win big, and you’ll have beaten their game. Destroy them when they take up the space of more valuable loot in your bags.

simple destroy the chest. problem gone.

or buy up 10000 of them when they were 3 copper each and resell them for 12 copper like I did.

I won big there Personally the chests are a joke since I have crap for luck, which is why I never gamble.
