Do the collections really give as many as seven tickets as reward? I’m wondering about this because when you link the item from the collection’s reward it only links one piece but it does say seven in the reward on the other hand. GW2Wiki’s article about chaos weapons also happens to say that it’s only one ticket.

Have any of you completed a black lion collection?

I need 3 more skins to finish the dragonjade set, I will let you know as soon as my buy orders are filled

also, it’s a prize you didn’t have before. for a lot of people, the true prize is having the skins. the tickets is just extra to help them get more.

sure its worth – when you buy complete set on 1 ticket (or like 100g per skin)
when you get 7 back than you paid only half the set

only hard to get the old skins on 5 tickets but thats ok

As a collector myself (thankfully I’m not collecting the Black Lion skins), I concur with Mystic. The people who wanted the collections would have gotten them anyway. The reward for completing the collection is just icing on the cake.

The reward for completing every single collection, or in other words, spending several thousands of Gold and/or real money on Black Lion Keys/direct skin purchases, is enough to buy one set of weapons that you don’t already own, from the older sets. Yeah.. I don’t really find that very valuable. If you’re buying the latest set, sure, it may help out, but it’ll never help you get your old sets. One weapon from one full collection is hardly going to help you all that much. And you can’t even get Sclerite anymore, it’s at some point impossible to complete unless they bring them back. I liked all the collections except these horrible Black Lion ones. These just shouldn’t have been a part of it.

Why not add a collection for every single Legendary weapon while we’re at it. I’m sure people will love that. It’s so reasonable to expect us to collect these things in full, rather than get what we like and leave the rest alone.

PS: I have 8 Legendary weapons, I won’t mind a collection for them, but I can say with relative certainty that I know people won’t exactly want one. It’s unreasonable, just like this Black Lion Collection category.

I guess they will bring back retired black lion collections back over time. They would be stupid if they would skip that opportunity to make $$$
As soon as there are enough collections there will hopefully be a rotation on which set costs 1 ticket.

The reason I had an urge to know about this is because I only need 10 more chaos weapons to complete the collection which would mean 10 of them for the price of three.
So I’ll get the weapons now since it’ll be so cheap.

Meh, this doesn’t seem like a very good deal to me. 7 tickets seems like a lot, but it’s really not, considering the price of most of the skins (whether in gold or tickets).

Right, but I think it is mainly for people who “want” to complete sets.

Say a person complete a set with 19 skins. When the next black lion set release another 19 skin again, he only need to collect 12 etc etc.., It does make completionist life much easier.

Except the completionist life does not get any real help with obtaining the old sets. They are 5 tickets each, with most collections having the full 16 weapons to skin. On top of that, the older sets gets more and more expensive in terms of buying them on the Trading Post. With as I said before, Sclerite not being available anymore, if they don’t make it available again, they’ll even go extinct, so they’ll become a collection that the completionist can’t even finish. And why don’t we have a Legendary collection if these are perfectly alright? Why shouldn’t you be forced to get 18 legendaries as well as a completionist? I don’t see how that’s less reasonable, because neither would be.

Wintersday 2012 is also not available anymore.

I fully expect them to bring back the Wintersday weapons during Christmas season. Likewise, never rule out the old weapons getting a discount or a re-run! They’ve already done it once before.

Ya the “extinct” sets will come back so they give you a reason to buy keys.
