Blue lvl 80 weapons appreciated
Who knows. I never post lvl 80 things unless they’re rares anyway. There’s not much point. Who’s going to buy a blue or green item at lvl 80?

Certain specific 80 blues (namely shields, maces, and pistols) sell for 80c-110c for instant sale while their vendor value is 66c.

I’m leveling all 8 professions, which is expensive let me tell you. So I buy level 80 greens for them as a cheap placeholder until I can scrape up the cash for exotics (the one I use for dungeons has full exotics). I know other people are leveling more than one profession so that is probably the main market for them. Maybe people also buy to throw in the Mystic Toilet, trying for an upgrade?
It is probably due to supply and demand.
First off, think of all the dragons / world events people farm. If it doesn’t drop a rare, it probably drops a masterwork. Since masterwork isn’t considered the lowest rarity, people are likely more apt to post it on the TP as a policy (even if it doesn’t economically make sense).
Secondly, crafting professions don’t make blues past the first 50ish levels. Everything after that is masterwork, so that also ups the supply for masterwork items. Just think of all the people grinding their crafts up to 400 – they want to craft the cheapest items possible.
Lastly, I know that many green items are confusing to salvage. With blues, you know for certain what items will salvage into (based off of the level of the item). With greens, however, you will often find that salvaging those do not always give you the materials you are looking for. For example, a level 34 – 42 blue always gives you the corresponding T3 crafting material. If you salvage a level 34 – 42 green, you might get T2 crafting materials because the item was crafted using those. So most people that do salvage items for profit won’t salvage greens as a policy.

That’s a reasonable theory, although that doesn’t explain why shields, maces and pistols are the pricey ones. If one were salvaging for Ori, you’d think they’d be buying up swords, greatswords and daggers (since the first three have a chance to salvage into wood as well).
Anyway, the fact that some blues sell for higher prices on the TP is why I always do a quick TP check before I vendor loot.
