Since TP won’t make money it’s not considered to be fixed or upgraded.
So, let’s have fixing the TP problems make them money.
If the Trading Post gets updated, I will buy gems with real-life money. This is gems for no purpose other than a reward for Anet – they are in addition to gems I otherwise get. Amount purchased depends on the update, see below for specifics; total will be rounded up.
This is not a poll or a demand or intended to be negative in any way; this is me promising to show my appreciation for something I’ve wanted.
I encourage other people to also pledge, and specify what updates you are pledging for, since you probably want different things than I do (I will update regularly with people’s pledges).
Desired Updates:
1) Any unmentioned update that makes the Trading Post experience better – 100-1000 gems each (Mystic)
2) Complete removal of “Error attempting to Sell” from selling things too quickly – 2000 gems (Mystic)
3) Able to search by armor weights – 1000 gems (Mystic)
4) Able to search by profession (armor and weapons) – 400 gems (Mystic)
5) Able search for back items – 400 gems (Mystic)
6) Able to do boolean searches (examples: “Berserker AND Emblazoned”, “Reinforced OR Chain OR Gladiator”) – 1000 gems (Mystic)
7) Fix the current categories and subcategories to be correct (such as “Food” returning food and “Upgrade Component / Weapon” returning upgrade components for weapons) – 200 gems (Mystic)
8) In the returned items from a search, split “Price” into “Buy Order Price” and “Sell Listing Price”, and able to order by either – 600 gems (Mystic)
9) Easier to go from “Items I’m selling” and “Items I’m buying”, to viewing that item, to back to that list (add a ‘back button’ or open in a new window, etc.) – 1000 gems (Mystic)
10) When selling an item, specify all the fees involved: “Unit Price:”, “Quantity:”, “Total:”, “Listing Fee:”, “Final Sale Fee:”, “Returned after sale:”, “Projected Profit:” (that last one is Total – Listing Fee – Final Sale Fee) – 800 gems (Mystic)
11) Remove the front page’s “Top Supplied Items”, “Top Demanded Items”, and “Top Traded Items”, to be replaced with something more worthy of being there, such as “Most Recently Added Items” or “Most Recently Purchased Items” or “New in the Gem Store” (promotions and new things added) – 400 gems (Mystic)
12) Fix the ‘Trading Post does not load and you need to relogin and maybe that will fix it’ bug – 2000 gems (Mystic)
13) Able to converting gold to gems by entering either how much gold to spend or how many gems you want to buy and the same for converting gems to gold – 200 gems (Mystic)
I got the idea from reading that, so I wanted to give a starting point to where I was coming from. It might not be true, but that’s not really the point of the post. The point is to support a game I like – and since I use the TP a lot and am most frustrated by some things that I feel have needed changing for a long time, I felt I’d vocalize that I would specifically support these changes.
2. Isn’t going to happen. It’s not there to just annoy you. Back when it didn’t exist, people used to flip hundreds of thousands of items. This creates artificial strain on the trading post. Before you think, that’d take hours, you can flip that amount instantly using the API.
3,4,5. Would you really pay for something that you can do using 3rd party sites?
6. The search works by matching keywords and sorts in priority of containing keywords, unless you have manually sorted the search. If you search for “Berserker Emblazoned” the first results is exactly that. Do you only want to see items with Berserker AND Emblazoned?
7. That is a bug in their code. It’s seriously as simple as changing a “0” to a “1”. Considering they haven’t fixed it yet, they either have a brand new TP they’re working on, or the original API developer (who quit) was also the only remaining TP developer.
well, I’ve had some time to play with the updated TP and I feel a bunch of these were completed. Here’s the breakdown as I see it:
1) any extras: I like that you can see both buy and sell listings at the same time – 400 gems
2) nope. This has been unintentionally “achieved” because the new TP is so slow at listing stuff that you have to really try to get the error. That doesn’t count in my book. But, the error message was changed to something more meaningful, so: – 100 gems
3) nope (search by armor weight)
4) yup (search by profession) – 400 gems
5) yup (search for back items) – 400 gems
6) nope (boolean searches)
7) yup (categories are accurate and all are present) – 200 gems
8) nope (buy order and sell listing price visible)
9) yup (easier navigation) – 1000 gems
10) sorta. more numbers involved in selling an item are displayed, but not all the ones people would want to know (currently missing “projected profit” and “expected pickup” – half: 400 gems
11) sorta. Front page lists were removed, but not replaced with anything. – half: 200 gems
12) thinking back, TP not loading has been fixed for a while (at least for me). It does require a while to make sure it’s fixed, so I feel that qualifies. – 2000 gems
13) nope (easier to convert exactly how many gold/gems you want)
3) nope (search by armor weight)
4) yup (search by profession) – 400 gems
searching by profession would be searching by armor weight, as engi/thief/ranger only use medium armor, warrior/guard only use heavy, etc. searching by class and weight go hand in hand

JusticarArkiel: I’m aware. both were on the list. one is not as good as the other, just like both are better than what we had before (search for ‘emblazoned’ to get medium armor, ‘exalted’ for light armor, etc.)
