usually when looking at cooking bottlenecks its going to be a lower level – not as often harvested item. Once the supply diminishes the price will spike.
Lemongrass is spiking sure, but there will be people feeding its supply much more rapidly than rosemary.

Right now rosemary has large stockpiles which should hold the price down for a while – but it wont last that long.

Anyone have a map or can tell me the general location where the Lemongrass nodes spawn?

I still think Lemongrass is going to be the limiting factor. It’s a lot harder to find than Rosemary, and nobody plays in the parts of Straits of Devastation where it’s found. Lemongrass has always had a reason to be expensive, it just never was until the Soup become popular. Rosemary has always been on the higher-priced end of herbs though.

It’s not like any one ingredient ends up being a bottleneck. As demand for this stuff goes up prices are going to rise across the board as pressure is put on supplies. Rosemary and Lemongrass will see most of the price increase because they aren’t shared with other recipes to nearly the same extent, and both are fairly difficult to gather.

You need 1 Lemongrass per soup but only 1 Rosemary per 3 soups, so at least from a raw demand perspective you’re looking at a lot more pressure on Lemongrass. Rosemary has previously been a pretty low supply / demand good, however, so the price can go pretty nuts under a real demand. Interested to see how it plays out.

The eastern land mass of Straights of Devestation. The herb patches can drop them. Generally the North section of that land mass have alot of nodes there. The is a 12 node patch there for (artichokes I think) as well. The herb patches drop alot of other well priced mats as well.

I wouldn’t underestimate the power of poultry either. It may be abundant but the recipe calls for a whopping 4 slabs of poultry.

Carrots and Slabs of Poultry meat have more than doubled in price recently. Rosemary Sprig is starting to climb. Interestingly Bowl of Herbed Poultry Stock is currently selling for less than the materials to make it.

Poultry isn’t nearly as limited – it drops in a LOT of different zones from a variety of mobs. If the zone has moa/raptors in it, its got poultry.

Sprig doesn’t appear in level 80 zones (only 30-70) and is one of many possible mats.
Lemongrass is the other stressed mat but is far easier to get reliably.

-condition duration. If you push this high enough with the new warrior trait and melandru runes, you can roughly reduce the immobilze duration to ~0.

Thanks that was very helpful. I usually hit these nods up whenever I am in orr. I use LG in WvW some no profit but at least I don’t have to buy them anymore.
