800 gems for one set of armor (heavy, medium or light) for one character.

Phew I only need a couple of pieces from the heavy set for one character, so no problemo.

And I hoped this would be achievable through the game. Guess this will be seen inflatinarily…

It sure is achieveable through the game. All you need is about 26 gold give or take a few silver. Compared to the Aetherized Weapons it’s a bargain.

I really like the Braham and Phoenix armour skins.

I think it’s time ArenaNet had an intervention on trench-coats though.

Down with trenchcoats! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhh. Why does it always have to be trenchcoats. Give my ranger, thief and engineer a proper skimpy top for crying out loud.

Magitech skirt clips like none other. Would have been a unique choice if not for that obvious flaw.

Definitely some clipping issues that need to be fixed at some point, though I know it’s a lot of work for the team. I have the first female human body type if I recall correctly.

I don’t see a point in opening another thread about this armor skins so I will drop the question here :

Are these skins time limited or are they a permanent addiction to the gemstore?

I would think permanent as they’re not related to any current events in the game.

Not bad. The first time I saw the preview of this armor I thought it’s ging to look awful, but I like the leather/heavy touch.

So I’m very excited about the magitech armor. Finally there’s a skirt. I’m going to buy it and ditch everything except the leggings, in the hopes that they fix the clipping issue with (what could be) the best medium armor leggings in the game.

I was going to buy the magitech armor, but they had to change the boots from cool steel toed boots to high heels that don’t really match the rest of the outfit.

Do these armor skins act like the Zenith skins where once you receive them you can put them on any character or are they like the previous armor skins?

You know, at first, I was in love with the Braham armor. So thoroughly that I built a Warrior just for it.
After looking at them more though, that Magitech armor is amazing too. So I just got that for my Engineer instead and ditched the Warrior.
Power-armored trench coat is crazy awesome. Now I just need that hammer, and to not have to ugly up that suit with packs <_<

As usual, the Light armor look awful on male characters. Amazing details on the female version and for us running male scholars we get a boring, bland Masquerade/Karma gear hybrid-mix.

They really need to revamp the whole long robe scholar cliche thing.

Planning on changing my mesmer’s sex to female since obviously the only armour they care about are the ones on female models. Does anyone have screenshots of a Sylvari female scholar sporting Phoenix armour by any chance?

Whilst I appreciate new armor skins being available they don’t look good enough and aren’t distinct enough from ingame skins for me to buy.

Purchased the Phoenix one….even though the Masquerade armor is still my favourite, I do like this one, so it’s a nice change.

There have been a couple of threads in the suggestions forum about this very thing ever since the Zenith skins came out. Also, Colin made a comment in an interview that some people have interpreted to hope will ultimately lead to this.

Also, for medium folks, the “borg eye” totally glows if you use a lighter color. Finally a helm for my engi that doesn’t turn me bald or look awful.

Dear ArenaNet,

would you please stop creating greatly different looking armor between genders? You may vary the amount of skin revealed, the precise shape of the shirt, the size of shoulder pads etc., but there is no reason for these discrepancies:

Female human

Male human

It is already very bad with the Aetherblade armor skins, where the light armor helmet is very different between male and female versions. But the new Phoenix armor basically consists of two completely different sets, which also means some styles are never available for asura because they are wearing unisex clothes which translates to the male versions of all armor*.

(*Please do not interpret this as me asking for splitting up asura armor into female and male versions. I love how they are just having unisex clothes because they don’t care about such differences the way humans do.)

It’s always nice to see a direct purchase item in the cash-shop. I’ve refused to put any money into the RNG weapon skins ever since I burnt through an embarrassing amount of gems with nothing but a buncha random boosters n such to show for it…felt like that dude in Vegas that just didn’t know when to quit and cut his losses…but that’s beside the point.

Hey ANet, I don’t get to compliment your team very often, but the skins are cool, your art designers/directors are doing a great job, and you should give them all a raise and Friday off work…preferably paid.

One suggestion if I may. Look into making these purchases unlockables akin to the HoM and achievement rewards.

i got a question: i’m an Engineer and i would like to buy the Magitech armor. If i buy it can i use it multiple times on different sets?( like zerker, rabid etc.)

Not over and over again like the Zenith weapons. You’ll get a package that when used will expand to six different skin items. Each of these may be applied to a piece of gear once, and then they are consumed. To get the skin onto another piece of gear, it will take one of the transmutation crystals (assuming level 80 kit).
