CPU and the new TP
I think we are more bound by connection and server speed than our CPUs. If you watched the PoI video last week that showed off the UI, it was very quick but that was over a local network (likely 1Gb) on a private TP with limited player load (likely none). If resources are being pulled from the game files then drive performance may also be an issue (I imagine their setups are on SSDs).
RIP City of Heroes
It’s bandwidth. Every time I want to buy/sell something it has to download a pretty large background image. Same for the confirmation after selling. Why can’t these files be loaded from the client files like the item images, or cached across sessions, or just make them a lot smaller?

It can’t see how it is bandwith, because I rarely have problems with bandwith. I have 30Mb optic fiber contracted from the ISP and my download speed is most of the time around 3mb/s. If it is bandwith related, it is only concerning the TP servers, which is weird.
I have seen videos of other people using the new TP and it runs so fast compared to mine, that’s why I find it odd that it might be a bandwith thing. Still what do I know, I ain’t a bandwith expert

The TP is a website. You’re loading a website into your game.
Yes, while it can and should be cached (then do a diff-check to see if it needs updating), the first time it’s loaded will take a while.
Yes CPU is busier with this new TP.
The real change is that it now uses a Chrome Engine instead of Internet Explorer .. don’t
know if the “bad evil” MS Browser uses less CPU.
Or maybe its also just the fact that it shows the results much fast now most of the time
and so it has more spikes on CPU load.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
