Since each class can only use one type of armor, it seems kinda silly to bunch all three types into one category with no way to filter them.

There was a way in beta, but then they took it out for some reason. It was really helpful then and I have no clue as to why anyone would want to reduce user experience, it’s just a tiny modification to the DB query… Now we either have to know the name of what we want or look at EVERY SINGLE ONE of them to see if we can even use it.

This is the one major issue I have with the trading post, please implement it!

Doesn’t bother me much anymore. You get to know the names and the icon differences.

Until they grace you with your requested change, you can mouse over the armor and if you do not see the armor you are wearing pop-up beside the one you are looking at, you will know it is the wrong type.

It is a bother the way it is right now.

yes please do this, its horrible to scroll over 100 types of armor to see only 1/3 is for your proffession, takes unneccesarry long :/

Yes. This seems like low hanging fruit. Add Armor (light), Armor (medium), Armor (heavy) and change the db query. Take out or leave Armor in, either way would work.

You can already do that by learning the 6 different armor naming schemes. Just enter the one you are looking for into the search with your other filters.

I.E. “Strong” armor grants Power+precision.

How about a way to preview stuff

Part of me agrees but I have indeed gotten used to it while doing searches. A preview option is definitely on my list though

Always find it amusing when stuff like this has to be suggested.

How many hundreds of games have come out with trading posts/auction houses before this one? Did any not let you do this and it takes it being suggested for it to be realized “Hey wait we should add this, great idea!”

10 years from now MMOs will be coming out and people will have to suggest on the forums 3 months after the game is out “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we could pick whether we want to be a warrior, thief, or cleric…rather than the game just randomly picking one for us on character creation?” then developers will respond “This is a great idea and is on our list of improvements”

I asked for this in the suggestions forum, but as I didn’t use the TP much during the Beta Weekends and I can’t remember how it was implemented, I have one thing to add to this:

Please don’t take away the ability to search simply by armor piece type when adding this. I’d much prefer it to be an additional filter level that could be set.

Sometimes, I want to see just light armor. Or just light armor coats. But sometimes, I want to see all coats because I am on my main looking to snap up great deals for my alts.

It would be equally frustrating if we lose a feature to gain a feature.

I don’t understand why this isn’t already the case. At the moment if you want to buy a certain type you have to just organize and then look around constantly by name.

EDIT: Nevermind, saw the ANet post. Hope it’s on its way.
