I try to buy gems with my credit card, and it says I can’t, says my new credit card is invalid, I called them and apparently “You can’t use VISA Debit” cards on games, what?

This doesn’t make sense.

#130105-002425 is my card number though, for support, hehe.

Tried to buy some gems this morning (and afternoon, for another try) and both my visa AND MasterCard keep netting the error " Please check your card information and try again"

I’ve triple checked both of them (and have used both of them in-game before today)…and still nothing. I did, however, notice a lot of people on the forums posting about this. Any news on what’s causing it?

I’ve only used a Visa Debit card. I think it was refused once but I tried again a minute later and it went thru. The refusal may have been caused by lag in my case. Maybe they are having multiple orders and lag combining into card refusal.

ack NEVER use a debit card..

It can be drained faster then you know if they bungle account security.

Just ask folks that played Warhammer Online and EQ1 or EQ2.

I learned back then to NEVER use a debit card for mmo’s. If you don’t have a credit card you can pay off without interest at the end of the month, get a pre-paid one to be 100%.

Ha funny that you mention warhammer, the time they overbilled people EA mythic charged my card 13 times for monthly subscription. Luckily I got the charges reversed fairly quickly but made for an interesting day to see I was charged 15 bucks 13 times on my monthly statement.

Not sure what policies are at bank in America about debit visa’s but with my bank in Canada visa transactions used on a debit visa share same coverage as a real visa but ONLY on visa transactions.

I’m glad it’s not only me with this problem. Was just thinking that they didn’t want my money and that was okay with me.
