You do not mention anything about the conduit here.

Great additions I would have loved to see a personal banker, or at least a battery pack for the Digital Deluxe Golem (that gave it another 5 days per use), but I see you guys were on top of it before I got to make a suggestion.

If you want to make chests more popular add a new type of chest with the average drop and an extremely rare chance for mount (if you plan to implement) / exclusive mini / recipes / fashion / packs / exclusive siege weapons…etc. :p Some F2P MMO’s already made huge profits from lottery boxes since the items are not bounded. They won’t give power to your character but the items you get are truly exclusive (awesome), expensive, allows you to resell them and can’t be found anywhere else.

Yes I sold 22 chests at 70s-1g. I was able to snag 2 more conduits though (only 4 total now) at 3.6g ea and I still have 8 chests.

I guess that’s what happens when you gamble. I had over 2,500 BL chests thinking they would do something, but I needed the gold for something else at the time. Oh the memories.

So let me get this straight. You say mystic chests (and therefore its items like conduits) won’t be crafted from scratch anymore, but existing items and ingredients will remain. So of course every intelligent trader bought out all of these items because there would soon be no supply.

Then you update the game later than when the patch was supposed to be issued, and in the update notes you write that mystic conduits now drop from black lion chests- aka junk that drops mercilessly throughout the game.

Of course many if not all of the traders who were online that invested earlier panicked and immediately started selling out their mystic items.

Now you say, “Oops, it was a mistake, these don’t come from BL chests.” And everyone who has sold out their mystic items can’t even buy them back.

Do you know what you’ve just put me and lots of people through with this mistake? Is this a joke? Because if it is it isn’t even slightly funny.

I doubt he will reply, but yeah a lot of people got shafted on this mistake. I was lucky enough to but a couple of conduits, but still lost maybe 10g. There is nothing that will be done about this.

You would technically be right. I took a risk, however, the odds they would take away the conduit from being made at the mystic forge and move it to something else was low. It was a good solid investment if they had not said it would be available from BL Chests.

Because you need to pay hundreds/even thousands of EUR/USD for BL Keys if you want to see a permanent merchant These items will be much much more expensive than you think. Lottery boxes should have an incredibly low chance of dropping exclusive items. (similar to Forsaken World for example but that’s a ripoff ofc. , ANet shouldn’t implement such evil system)

I have doubts that this will cause any real increase in the chest prices. There are still more chests out there than anyone is willing to buy keys for.

I understood that this only affects the tonics that now drop from the chests. So the change is not retroactive.

Will we see a Mystic Forge recipe that makes us able to create Endless Tonics? Would be really nice.

There is a “endless mystery tonic”. I have had it since my second black lion chest… I now want these three new Permanent Banker, Permanent Trading Post NPC, and the Permanent Black Lion Merchant.

Yeah, you have to get lucky with the chest – however, there may now be a recipe for it.

Can you make the Mystic Core/Tube etc. at least have some vendor selling price?

Because now people have a lot of them, and they are worthless since mystic chests are no longer and Conduits available from BLC.

I have spent real money buying gems, but not for this. Buying $500.00 worth of gems is to open boxes that cannot be resold is a waste.

The way of thinking should be to farm gold and buy gems with gold not cash. I understand the entertainment value of a game and spending money on entertainment. I have been addicted to a few things and probably am to this game as well so I can point out the fact that $500 for gems sounds like an addiction. Yes I have been there (in another game).

Save your money, the reward for real $ is not worth it. I don’t even think you get keys inside them any more. On average, 1 copper, 3 mystery tonic, and some random buffs. Better off buying cooking items.

While everyone (except ArenaNet) would benefit from such drop rates being public, I don’t think this is a necessity. If you don’t know what the rate is, assume it’s very nearly zero until shown otherwise, and don’t put money or gold into it unless you have thousands of dollars or thousands of gold that you’re entirely willing to burn.

As for spending real money vs in-game gold on the gems, I don’t see a huge difference one way or another.

That’s just silly; of course drop rates matter. Sure, those outcomes are both possible, but it’s the probability of those outcomes that matters.

I was not trying to imply that the drop rate was useless. That is why I followed up by giving an example of what I was talking about.

You speculated on the market and lost money because the perceived value of the things you were trading in fluctuated unexpectedly. There are other people who have had equal or greater amounts of gold just up and vanish due to BLTC downtime and bugs. Personally, I think those people have a wee bit more right to be angry right now than you do. And yet, from the threads I’ve seen, those people are filled with far less uncontrolled rage than you seem to have, despite losing more money than you through less fault of their own.

Calm the kittening kitten down, in other words. (If the forum is going to convert every bad word to “kitten”, I figure why not cut out the middle man.)

I imagine black lion chests will have a loot table similar to Gifts of the Traveler. The nice stuff will be rare but seen, and the really REALLY good stuff will be practically unheard of.

I’m thinking mini Polar Bear (GW1) which had a reported drop rate of 0.01%. Which means you might see one in game but never know someone w/ one.

I would VERY much appreciate a mystic forge recipe for the permanent merchants using many of the temporary or something like that. I just dropped a huge amount of money on the chests and got nothing new other then a small stack of temporary merchants. Please don’t keep them completely unobtainable like they are now…

Sounds like someone with a large disposable income rather than an addiction. Either way, no need to pull the armchair psychologist.

Do the contents of the chest role when it’s dropped or unlocked?

In other words, do the chests sitting in my inventory have a chance at these perks?

keys are not worth buying, not at their current price anyway. I would however love it if Arenanet put the permanent versions of the BL merchant, trade post, etc. in the store. Make them higher cost (like 800 or so gems) and make them soulbound (not account bound, so they can make more money). Would guarantee I would spend more money on those for my main and perhaps an alt or two in the future then I ever will on any RNG chest key.

Or if permanent is too much, sell 15 or 30 day versions of these in the store. Not joking I would totally buy Trading Post access all my gw2 career XD

Part curiosity/part paranoia; has anyone seen or heard of names for the permanent versions?

I’m especially curious if:

1] Their summons have different appearances?

2] The merchant & trader are still usable by everyone, or just the owner – it would seem likely to make someone very popular in their guild if they are both permanent & public!

Ironically it was like, from the very first mystic chest I ever opened. This was pre-update but I’m sure you can still get them. Every chest I’ve opened after of course has been utter crap.

Personally? I think fair price for soulbound perma items would be fair price of ~800 gems, but I would pay up to 1200, I use the trade broker that much. If they were account bound, which I doubt would ever happen, easily double that.

Im curious if anyone has been able to get the permanent anything yet or if it was just a convenient fluke that they happened to not be dropping. I threw 30k gems into chest keys and didn’t get anything permanent… and before I go dumping anymore money I wanna hear of 1 person who has gotten it, cause I think this was rather curious that noone seems to be able to get them like maybe arenanet FORGOT to put them in or something. Between my friends and I weve opened 300-400 chests and nobody has seen these mythic permanent items… I shouted around lion’s arch and not 1 person.
