Changes to the trading post interface
How about a search filter for Item’s I’ve Bought / Sold.
And the ability to condense items in those lists to averages, so that all 80,000 purchases of Silk Scraps only take up 1 slot.
Might actually make those lists usable for anything other than looking at the past few hours.
Ability to cancel all bids/offers for a certain item at a certain price. Sick of spending 10 minutes cancelling 250,000 bids just because someone decided to put a wall up ahead of me.
Ability to see the bid/offer spread on the sell page, instead of having to do the sell→buy→sell dance (and then the sell→buy→sell→buy→sell dance for when you doubt your memory even though you know you know it).
4th sell option: Sell at remembered price.
—-And that’s just basic functionality that should be in- now for some crazy stuff.
Complex Trades
Ability to see all items meeting specific criteria at a certain price. eg- All level 78-80 items, catagory of armor, quality level of masterwork. Sell @ 6s34c.
Even crazier: also, only sell if sell offer is currently below 6s34c.
One more level: Same criteria, but sell @ lowest sell offer minus 1c.
That little gem would save hours of my life and literally destroy my profit margins, but good. I shouldn’t be making money from poorly designed trade mechanics.
Automatic Trading
Next crazy thing: Automatic trading. Buy 100 Laced Gloves, put in an automatic sale command, once order is forfilled sell Laced Gloves automatically at lowest seller minus 1 copper.
Crazier: above only if sell price is above 6s34c. Otherwise list at 6s34c, or otherwise just leave in bought queue to be picked up.
I’d like to see trade information, even if it is just last sale. I’d also like to be able to see the order book whether I’m selling or buying. I think those two changes would help traders and non-traders alike.

The one thing that I would love to have is an “Average Listing Age” stat show up.
When you are browsing the sell listings, every available price point should show the price asked, the number at that price, and the average age in days for the listings at that price.

I think trade information would be easier to interpret and get you to the same conclusions. Even if it was just last sale, Spidy or other sites using the interface would be able to chart it (probably) . Listing age is one step removed from actual transactions because it includes cancellations and relistings.

I wonder. For some items, some terrible-priced listing can potentially really skew results.
Being able to search/filter for heavy, med, light for armors would be #1 on my list.

Great suggestions, but I’ve lowered expectations to the point I’d be happy if they finally fix the issue with small fonts on the buy page.

I would like to see this too, but it’s not top on my list because I have a work around. There are only a few names of each armor type in each level range.

Yea but it’s 2 per quality per level range (at least), they are kinda random which they are for healm/legs/chest/etc, and that’s not intuitive at all and annoying as all kitten.

I agree it’s annoying – even with being able to search GW2DB for the names. But the top of my list is still trade information, which there is no work around for. The search filter is definitely in my top 5 though.

I’d just like the existing filters to fully work (ie back slot items, food, upgrade components) and to add filters for armor type.
As for some of the history tools, while those would be nice, it’s probably a fairly niche market of people who’d get much use out of those changes, and they have the potential to put a lot of extra load on the server depending upon implementation. They’d be nice but I don’t think you should get your hopes up for those sort of things.
thumbs down to the larger order size. The rare times when one legitimatley needs more than 250 of an item are worth dealing with to make it a pain for people to manipulate/flip.
How about making the Time in the transactions tab match the current time zone. 5 hours ago does not equal “seconds ago”.
How about when you right-click to sell something, the window opens in the SELL tab, rather than the buy tab.
How about when you click on the item in the transactions tab, and it brings up a BUY page, it makes the BUY tab active instead of the TRANSACTIONS tab.
How about being able to see your orders on an item’s Buy page so you know if you’ve already got one for sale or if you’ve got an order for that item already. You could put a little star at the price level where your order is placed.
The sluggishness of the TP is unacceptable to me and needs improvement. But even more unacceptable is the lack of filter for armor weight. I still can’t believe that’s not in the game by now.
