Today I found that the gw2 forums’ search sucks and I can’t find what I am looking for.

So I’ve basically got two questions : are character expansion slots on sale on a regular basis (ie every 2/3/4 months), and what percentile does it take off ?

From my search on google it seems there was one two months ago (from what I remember :?) and it goes up to 20% (bit more than 600 gems). I don’t really pay attention to sales usually but… well 800 gems hurt, and actually 600 gems + the waiting hurt just as much. As I couldn’t find many informations about that I’m kind of wondering if it’s worth waiting for, I thought there was a 50% reduction once but I was mistaken I guess. Sorry if I misused the search engines somehow.

Not very often. If you’re that in need of the character slot, you should be able to afford the 80-90g it would cost to buy gems with gold.

IIRC it’s normally only 20% off as you remembered.

Remember ANet doesn’t care what the price is in gold converted to gems. They are priced based on actual cash value of gems.
