Charged Lodes/Cores - Buy Now or Wait?
Uhh since this patch is going toward making t6 mats and lodestones LESS rare than they are, well I suggest you buy up the entire supply and see what happens………..

Wait until the price bottoms out further. Then buy a kitten ton in preparation for new legendaries.

Not by much…
Anet PROMISED us better drops from Dungeons last Spring. Remember?? And What’d we get?? 3 extra tokens, and a drop of liquid karma in most cases with the vast majority of Dungeon chests still giving nothing but Masterwork GARBAGE.
So yeah you’ll sometimes … …maybe SOMETIMES get 1 or 2 Cores per week from ganking Champions (instead of just giving a Guaranteed sliver / fragment / core / lodestone BASED ON LEVEL like they should) from some over farmed newb event in Queensdale while the rest of us who slay 20 champions per night in Orr/Arah continue to get mostly Masterwork green Vendor Trash….
Or better yet…. we’ll get more rares but then they’ll stealth nerf the Ecto salvage rate.
.
Inb4 I’m called a negative nancy even though I’m only quoting exactly what all the Drop Table data from the Wiki’s & fan databases already pointed right to with sample sizes in the 10,000’s

There will obviously be more people running COE. And with the promised more way to get lodestone from interview, there will be more supply.
The question is will there be more demand to dry up the supply. Since the developer also talked about releasing new ascended or legendary item. And they might use lodestone. And the precursor hunt might encourage people to go for legendary.
It’s a coin toss, hard to speculate. If it’s me I’ll wait for this update and hope charged lodestone price drop because more people is doing COE. But not wait too long in anticipate of new ascended and legendary gear.
The rare/yellow mats have been mentioned as drops from the new champion bags… Given the champion farming in Queensdale, I expect to see champions getting mauled all over the world with that for added incentive. I anticipate the market for lodes will sink noticeably.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

I thought ANet mentioned there would be “additional ways” to obtain rare items like charged lodestones. Other lodestones are currently available for 1gp ea from various NPCs.
My gut feel is to unload the lodestones because I think the market on those specifically will drop.
T6 mats on the otherhand…
I really hope when they implement the new champion rewards, that the champs in Queensdale only drop T1 rare crafting materials (slivers) and the champs in Orr drop TT4/T5 rare crafting materials (cores/lodestones).
If the Queensdale champs can drop cores/lodestones then that will be the go to place for champ farming. Why bother with high level champs?
At any rate, this should help influx more rare crafting materials into the market. I suspect a few more people might be farming all 3 paths of COE also. All three paths of COE are incredibly easy. The supply of charged cores/lodestones SHOULD go up.

I too really hope that all champs don’t have the same drop table when it comes to these new rewards. It would be rather dumb if i can kill champs in queensdale and get the same chance at lodestones as in orr.

I’m pretty confident that at least the crafting mat rewards will be level appropriate to the champion defeated .

Yeah, I believe that too. ANet has to know that giving all Champions the same loot table would just funnel players into whatever low-level map had the easiest Champion farm train (*cough*Queensdale*cough*), and just stay there 24/7. They don’t want to turn any particular map into a perma-farming pit, which is why they’re nerfing CoF.

That aside, it would mean Charger Slivers will remain stupidly expensive(relative to what you can make with them) even though there isn’t anything all that useful you can make with them.
